She's has gotten somewhat creepy over the last few years. (15?) She makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I think she's a wing nut. But that's just me. Creeps me out.

And boy, she can get nasty too. She's like a toddler who hasn't gotten her way.

She was on the safety comm. and that didn't work out. Then she was the reserve chair in Clt and let go because she couldn't keep her mouth shut about f/a's personal business not to mention she is just this big, huge drama queen about everything.
So she's pissed at Ann for cutting her loose. So what does she do? Go for the LEC Pres slot.
Believe me...this is all personal. Not business.

She's been shot down twice running for LEC Pres. And now she's getting a freebie from the DOL.

I wouldn't vote for her if she was the last f/a standing.

She is getting a new election from the DOL because that international union AFA screwed up big time. It is very difficult to succccessfully challenge a national union on an election. You must prove out an out fraud or that election irregularities were so great that these irregularities could change the outcome of an election.

In either case, and we will never know which because the DOL will not disclose this information, this election must be rerun. This challenge required a review by AFA national and an appeal to the DOL at the local level and then at the national level. It is very intereisting the AFA with a full legal staff could not defend the accuracy or integrity of an election. This does not happen very often, in fact it appears that this one of the first successful challenges to AFA.

I met the challeneger in person through her pilot boyfriend, S/O and she is very determined and aware of what she was doing and what was going on in the elction. As I said before, flight attendants will never know what the real reason for this election rerun, fraud or bad or management of an election. It is a very high hurdle to overcome, the DOL rarely sets aside elections, but she has done it and it is indicitive of her determination.

It shows what one person and some grit can do to help change the course of a union that seems to be off course.

The DOL didn't find that the local AFA office had run the election improperly. Nor did they discover that the AFA National had done anything wrong either....but because they are so very sensitive to making sure everything is on the up and up....they're having the election be rerun. So, yes, she's getting a freebie.

What I want to know is.....if it wasn't correct.....why aren't all of the positions being rerun?

[Instead of attacking you could have used this forum to say why you don't believe something will work or ask for more information. Many said the membership won't go for this or that, but so far your failed recall effort tells a different story.

Your very public failure tells the company that they are on the right track with the negotiations process. These recall efforts are very tricky things, if you lose you lose momentum even if things were churned by the intl office. Some are not going to be enthusiastic about your tale of woe this time around. Add to this a lack of any "known" names of people willing to step up to the plate. People like the known, not speculation.

The public failure as you say is not because of the membership. It is because of the unions antic's that the petitions as you put it failed. The membership is stronger than ever and everyone is tired of the union not listening to us. We do not like the way the negotiations are going and we have been stating that to the JNC and the MEC. It is time for them to listen to the membership. The union's antic are telling the company something....that the union is weak and the leaders are more for the company than for the flight attendants.

I understand everything you are saying here. And I know you're angry about a lot of things. I'm angry about a number of things too.

But for me, the easiest thing for me to do, if I don't like a contract, is just to vote it down.

I don't need to shoot the messenger. Way too much drama. Voting it down serves the purpose quite well.

Um, EXCUSE ME. I was based in PIT at that time and there was no reserve chair in PIT. Someone suggested I contact Cathy in CLT regarding an OPR problem. At that time she was the CLT reserve chair. As I said, she did help me AND she did a great job but later she called me and asked me to help her out in CLT by flying down there and going through documents at the LEC office---I said no and she got angry and told me "I owed her." I stand by this and it DID happen. There is merit to my statement and it is not a story.
If we're going to start the "your based somewhere else so you shouldn't post on this subject" , let's look at a few of the other posters on here in support of Cathy. Another who is posting A LOT is also a PHL F/A and another is a previous union president who no longer works here.
I personally would not vote anyone in to office that thinks they are "owed" anything for helping someone else out and doing what they were appointed to do which was being the RSV chair....even if I have never been based in CLT. When I was the Council Rep in PIT and years ago in GSO, I didn't keep tabs on who I helped and tried to call in favors later for doing the job I was elected to do. That's not what I consider serving in office to be about. I won't apologise for having morals and values....

Please Sarah you have definitely lost your perspective. I find it hard to believe that anyone especially Cathy would ever ask you to fly down to CLT to go (from your first post snoop) then this post go through documents at the LEC office. Cathy is not the type to ever ask nor expect someone to ever owe her anything much less ask you to fly down to CLT from PIT to snoop. I guess you have decided to help out by telling lies so that you could do Kim K. a favor which in turn would be a favor for MF and then in turn a favor for AC. No body cares how you would vote especially since you do not personally know Cathy and you do not have a vote in CLT. As for being elected to do something which again shows that you do not know of which you speak the reserve chair is not a postiion in which is an elected one. Cathy has helped myself and other flight attendants numerous times and never once has she ever asked anything of us.

Considering how long this process of negotiating has taken why would or should we the membership continue to allow the JNC to negotiate further when we don't approve of most of the language already written? Why allow them to waste more of our time and more importanly MONEY? If we wait then vote we'll have to do a survey and go through all this BS all over again. NO!

That is a joke. She shows up late for meetings if she even shows up at all. Some of the meetings she has shown up 1 hour late some 45 min late some 15 min late some she will not show up but will decided last minute to do a conference call and then the best one is just not show up at all. Yes the DOL has come in and has done some hand slapping because there were abnormalities in the election. It is apparent that you are the one that pitch's the fits. It is also obvious that you are jealous of Cathy and her accomplishments and you are feeling the pressure. She did a remarkable thing. Guess you forgot to mention that others were involved in the challenge...hum.... at least ten or more flight attendants. The DOL did find that the election was run improperly that is why there is a rerun. Oh, and possibly the reason that it is only the President that is being rerun is because that is where the abnormalities were discovered. Guess only the DOL really knows. So no she is not getting a freebie as you put it the election was not done right to begin with. To be honest Ann is the one that has had the freebie....she has been able to avoid having to fly to get over 100 hours of time a bit longer. Showing up to work in sweat pants is a joke. That is not someone who takes their job seriously...that is someone who has gotten to lax with their position. So no the union has not been found free of charges otherwise there would not be a rerun.

Reply: Oh and FYI no they did not get the ballots out to everyone. Were you aware that there were numerous flight attendants who did not get a chance to have their voices heard in the election. They also all had to give statements to the DOL. I know because I was one of them. Guess you should look at the rules of the DOL that governs elections before you speak.

Reply: Recount what a joke. No recount was needed as it was challenged by numerous candidates instead. And the rest is well vindication that the election was not done correctly the first time.

She should be dressed in a fashion that if she had to go to the airport that she would be dressed professionally as she is representing the flight attendants. So yes you should care.
