AFA labor discussion (Work related)

Fix it. That's what we're asking. Don't waste five years work. We do respect your efforts, however somewhere you guys got off track. For heaven's sake, admit it, do a poll and fix it.

Don't saddle us with a bad agreement for another set of years. Hell, most of my career has been ruined by this bankruptcy mess.

Either fix it or walk away and let someone else fix it.

We can start fixin it right here on East Coast by voting Anne C. out as CLT LECP. Get somone in there that will be the f/a's voice. Cathy Campbell definitely stirred up the pot by PROVING the last election was not up to par. She and the other f/a's stepped up to the plate. Kevin, AFA International Sec. told them they'd never get the election Re-Run. He said it would never happen.....

While I appreciate Deborah's brass balls for coming on here and putting her name to a post I doubt we'll hear much more from her. You see, I'd bet my first born that Daddy Flores put a hurtin' on her after finding out she posted here and relinquished information to the peons and trouble starters . Couple that with the fact that she basically got a spanking from a few posters here for the rubbish she posted. If her posts aren't a clear indication of the JNC's disconnect we need to clean the glasses. Like I said in an earlier post, "starting on the local level the change demanded WILL come." 😉


Nor should you hear much more from her. She provides answers to your questions that no other Rep has done so openly thus far to BOTH groups and what happens? You spew! Now, magically and wonderously you are blinking your dewey eyes saying where did she go? When opportunities come create something from them, don't ruin them. There are many different parameters to these sections other than what is listed in a paragraph. The AIL has to be improved or the membership will balk - the company knows this and so does the JNC. Why didn't anyone ask how is the AIL going to change or why are you keeping this in when we believe the majority of FA's don't like it?

Instead of attacking you could have used this forum to say why you don't believe something will work or ask for more information. Many said the membership won't go for this or that, but so far your failed recall effort tells a different story.

Your very public failure tells the company that they are on the right track with the negotiations process. These recall efforts are very tricky things, if you lose you lose momentum even if things were churned by the intl office. Some are not going to be enthusiastic about your tale of woe this time around. Add to this a lack of any "known" names of people willing to step up to the plate. People like the known, not speculation.

Ms. Volpe has received many criticisms on the West board about various sections of the proposed upcoming contract and has taken the time to difuse and educate the board members there with the facts that are thus far known about PBS and scheduling and many other questions. This has also helped us all understand that we don't know the entire picture and that we need to be able to read other sections of the contract that have not been made public thus far.

So far as the reserve section is concerned, there are infact only 2 specific sections within the reserve section which say "at schedulings discretion" and these concerns were very vociferously directed to the our Reps to tell the co. no! The way that some posters on here are talking it sounds as though the entire reserve section is at schedulings whim. I might be wrong, but I thought "At shcedulings judgement" still had parameters that had to be followed and there were rules when schedulings judgement came into play.

As for vacation, West vacay tops out a 5 weeks. When I have East jumpseaters with me on the a/c they all say they want the West vacation - so what exactly is the problem? Especially in light of the fact that the council intends upon improving this slightly. Now lets say we take the west vac. at 5 weeks. You know how vac. works are you bitter because you have to work 6 months out of the year? Seriously.

And what is with all this talk of walking away? To where? Back to the membership? Really? You have 2 brains. I wish you would use them. There are 3 participants in this negotiation process...the JNC, The Co. and THE FEDERAL MEDIATOR!!! Remember that guy?! What, he's going to sit there and watch this thing disolve and when someone walks away from the table say "hey, will someone get me a scotch?" This process will finish, the names may or may not change, but the process will finish.

Oh. Yup, there are probably a good many junior fas that will just vote this through based upon the pay increase. Alot have already said there will be furloughs so the thinking is well then why worry about the work rules, I won't have to work them especially when we read that people are celebrating their 45th year with the company! OMG, really! The shoe is now on the other foot...maybe the lineholders should've looked after the reserves from the begining afterall.

And they all lived happily everafter...knowing full well that they deserved eachother.

I thought it was great that Ms. Volpe popped in and posted but what she said is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING that a member couldn't find out from any MEETING or excuse me, information session or directly from Mike's lying mouth. Then again what he says depends on who he says it to or what base your in. THAT is FACT baby. Now as for Ms. Volpe, she will most likely be told by Flores to "shut it" on aviation. You can take that one to the bank. Now as for the AIL...what improvement are we talking here that wasn't mentioned in any info session? WHO might I ask will be able to use the AIL beside the top few percent? Honestly.....I'll wait, who??????????????? The recall effort failed for various reasons but make no mistake MANY signatures were collected. Are you going to tell me that you don't believe flight attendants are pissed off? Are you going to tell all of us posting or reading here that we stand behind our JNC and the path they have taken negotiations? What planet are you on? A petition has been underway to recall the Local 70 officers. Only this time the signatures will be well above the numbers needed and EVERY SINGLE signature will be checked for validity and duplication. You can take THAT to the bank as well. It's not for the JNC to worry nor the company who will "step up to the plate". My cat could do a better job negotiating in between licking her...well never mind. Mike and Carol are FAR from the only ones suitable to negotiate and it shows by their junk brought to us thus far. What all of this is showing the company is their time is running out with the JNC they are bargaining with or excuse me, WORKING with hand in hand. Who doesn't know the entire picture involving PBS? It was laid out in black and white at the info session. Then again it might have been lies since it WAS presented by Flores and his ladybug wearing sidekick Girl Wonder. I can't even BEGIN to go into your ill knowledge of the reserve language negotiated and agreed upon by both parties. COMPLETELY off the chart there. How about that vacation you mentioned? The vacation we've seen doesn't even bring east flight attendants up to where they were in 2000. TOTAL BS again. How about using 7 days of vacation in a row? Today you'd get 4 hours a day but will no longer. How about the sick call going from 21 days to 14. Look, the list goes on and on and while you can try to split hairs and muddy the water the truth lies in the language brought before us thus far and it's crap. Pure and utter crap so save the explanations and cover ups for another thread. The f/a's on the east for certain are so fed up with being dictated to, lied to, given twisted and double talked stories. We are grown individuals who are being taken for a herd of sheep. Watch and see what happens when Anne is out of office along with John in PHL. Just wait and see. If at first you don't succeed, try try again. LOVE IT! ! ! ! :lol:

The "recall "is to ENSURE he CAN't run again!!!!!! 😛 Specifically because of the LACK OF SUPPORT he just doesn't have!

And I don't think he can qualify and pass his training, so, since there is no furlough, which he was on for a few years, there is always a medical he can conjure up.

1. Can't be company qualified.

2. Doesn't want to do this any more.

3. And endures a lot of cruel jokes by sophomoric posters.

What were the circumstances under which you left the company?

Was it something about free passes beyond seniority like some have complained about in this thread?

I understand TG is still here but you're not. You may have let some people down
with your quitting.
 
Sorry Folks sometimes I speak in Code . As far as Teddy she had to no choice she could not come back and lose all travel privileges. I am saying stay strong.

This $$$ 56 $$$ you are throwing around (if true) is a good start toward a better contract, however there is much more for us to consider.

We already got a glimpse at

New Reserve....Forget it
PBS....Not a chance
Split from Pilots.....Nope
More cleaning w/ nautical miles.....you're kidding right?

so there you have it.
56 is a good # you pulled out of air, but it aint enough.
