AFA labor discussion (Work related)

Annie C would light herself on fire with sparklers at this point to get her name out there. This is total theater for Annie. Instead of sitting her butt in the crew room and defending her actions; or lack thereof, she hides behind Flores via hastily called informational meetings- a man she really can't stand. What is even more hysterical is the fact these two think they have any credibility with the line flight attendants. It's sad really to watch because in Annie's mind she is the best thing since sliced bread.

This meeting is nothing more than Anne trying to "campaign" her booty off. She has been silent basically non-existent for quite some time yet NOW she's getting out there to the membership? Really? Where has this woman been? I'd also like to hear the answer a few of us posed on here asking "WHAT on Earth has that woman done for the membership while holding office?"

Spot on post here Beachboy. Seems like we are at the State Fair with all the grandstanding going on. Flores is just going through the motions with negotiations. If he spent as much time seriously negotiating as he has playing his political Chess game we would have had a contract by now. His focus now is securing control of the Charlotte Council one of the crucial votes that will secure his position. He is well aware that his support in Philly is rapidly eroding. He has his little minion in Washington in his back pocket and needs one more of the two Councils to stay in office. That is what his focus is on, NOT negotiations. He cant stand Ann but will support her because he can manipulate her and he knows he cant manipulate Cathy C. Ann cant stand Flores either but thinks he can protect her. One problem if Ann should lose who will run the garage sales? bake sales? all the ra ra pep rallies? That is what the Charlotte meetings are. The entire Charlotte office sit there and allows Flores to run THEIR meeting. They dont say BOO. Time for a big change in Charlotte.

Flores mentions in his eline that it has been 4 years negotiating. He better go back and realize he started the process in January 06. My calculations tell me we are entering our 6th year of negotiations. If he had any shame at all he would step down. More than 2000 flight attendants want him to do just that.

The latest laughter going around Ann is singing the praises of Grace in Philly as a replacement for JM. That's because she is the only person who will make ANN look good. This is the person who is blowing in our own Union members in Philly to the Base director for soliciting petitions. This is the same person who advised members to resign in lieu of termination. A Union officer couldnt give worse advice than that. What is really amusing is that ANN thinks she has credibility in philly. She only received just over 200 votes in her large base. Maybe GJ can bake something for Ann's next bake sale?

Show up Monday for the meeting in Charlotte. There shouldnt be any reserves there since it is the busiest week of the year. What are they thinking? This is nothing more than a political rally. Maybe the DOL should sit in?

There will also be very few blockholders there since they will be trip improving to have Christmas Eve off. What a time to have a meeting to discuss what?! Nothing more than a chance for Ann to campaign. There is nothing for Mike to talk about. I would like to see a real local meeting to discuss actual local issues. Have not seen that in how long. Hum do you think she will have a meet the candidates? She thinks she is being slick again, but she will need more help than MF to get elected back into office. With the DOL overseeing this election she will not be able to utilize her peeps in the international office to get reelected. The best part is that she nor the International will have control of the duplicate ballots.

Has anyone ever noticed that Ann always has a meeting during an election but yet she never used one to introduce all of the candidates to the members. The meetings are always MF leading the meeting. She needs to be a leader and not allow MF to run her meetings.

As far as Ann in CLT she's more nervous than a long-tailed dog in a room full of rocking chairs. She knows her days are numbered and will try anything and everything to stay in office. Think she wants to hit the line and sling beverages? And as for Grace replacing John in PHL, well with her it's..... Lights on, door open yet nobody is home. Just as asked of Ann, what has Grace done for the membership? What would qualify Grace to take over for John not that his track record is any good besides making international charts for his senior gals? Seriously this place is a freakin' joke. 🙄

Grace can jump up, snap her fingers and do a pretty mean two finger whistle while "scolding" the members at a meeting for asking the tough questions. John is always too busy playing Plinko on his blackberry to get involved.

Well she IS his bulldog afterall. Wait, isn't that how union business is conducted? A whistle with the fingers to your mouth? Roof roof........ 🙄

I'd like to volunteer for the car wash. You know, clean things up a bit.
I'll be at the meeting on Monday as should anybody who's able. Wouldn't they freak out to have a packed house? Get the sparklers ready folks, I think that they are going to line up like the Rockettes!
A few of my real Q's might actually get answered. But I'll be watching to make sure that NONE of the local officers inadvertantly campaign while they are there on the union dollar. I'll be noting who actually asks Ann or any of the others anything regarding the election.
Santa's not the only one checking to see who's naughty or nice.

Actually, a very LARGE number of RSvs (most Jr) are off Monday and another good chunk are sitting OPR since there are no trips.

Words out ... Lets see what happens!

And why don't You throw your hat in the ring?

Never once did I state that I had an intention on running for any elected position. When it comes to qualifications I can spot an UNQUALIFIED individual a mile away. I'm a dues paying member that has the right to demand better representation. So, before you spout off at the mouth that I should run for office and "throw my hat in" why don't YOU try going to a union meeting and educating yourself on contractual/negotiations issues FIRST. We do have a jumpseat agreement on Delta if you find it challenging to get to PHL for a meeting. Have a great day and Happy Holidays! 🙂

Not sure if anyone saw this so here goes. If it's a dup post I apologize

Here's snippet.

"Looking out over four or five years and recognizing that a merger is a possibility, we want to make sure we have the company in an advantageous position," said Steve Johnson, US Airways' executive vice president, in an interview. "There are very significant benefits for shareholders and employees in a merger, so we don't want to make mergers complicated or unattractive."

Now I were leading the AFA my response would be. OK fine that's what you want then knock it off with the low ball offers. If he's tipping his hand publicly and negotiating through the press I be very careful and not do a deal just to do one.

Did anyone attend the meeting in CLT yesterday to discuss the Non-negoitiations that were going on?
Was anything new or important said that we already didn't know? 😉
