I certainly hope BC didn't give his approval before the new direction got in office. If so then the old guys got a parting shot on the membership.

When I had the opportunity to speak with some DL141 reps including AGCs I brought up the pitiful communication. One item in particular was the contracts, the fact that their online posting was promised, and that there had been no update to the unauthorized changes claim. Obviously my message did NOT get across; the contract has NOT been posted online; and communications have NOT improved.

I looked and found the contract thanks for the heads up I guess you gotta look before you leap. I noticed several updates on the page and have talked to my AGC several times I would say communication from him has improved. The local guys have been doing a good job as well.

Guess its in all the way you look at it...

Gotta go place a bet later folks.....

My apoligies. It appeared to me that that file was only an image for the link below it. I stand corrected.

I usually go online to read the contract and I know 141 has it up and has had it up for a long time

We had a dues increase go into effect this paycheck for all fleet agents in clt, it was 2.25 a paycheck, or 4.50 a month. I dont know how much other locals went up, but I assume they did. The I.A.M. negotiated a 2% raise to go into effect on the next paycheck on the last T/A. By my math, (which could be wrong, so someone correct me if it is) thats a .39 an hour increase for a topped out agent. Which if Im correct, results in about 30.00 more a paycheck. Heres what gets me!! Hundreds of people will #### and complain about paying 2.25 more a paycheck to get 30.00 more a paycheck. While I do have some college education, I still cant figure it out. That seems like a pretty good investment to me, but people will complain about the 2.25, but you wont here one "Thank You" for the union getting them a 30.00 a paycheck raise.
While like everyone else: I wish it could be more, at least its something. I dont get it? As Charlie Brown would say! "G O O D G R I E F !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to clarify, the new rates will be a "flat rate" of 2% of gross wages. I'm topped out (at NW), and that will mean going from $47/mo. to $61/mo.

Charlie & every one else, I'm very po'd about the dues increase. IMO it's just not right. We get a small wage increase & up goes the union dues.

Harry,
in case you didn't know it. YOUR dues have been going up for the last 5 years !!!
Your local decided 5 years ago to ABSORB the Grand Lodge increase for its members in clt
since we were in a pay cut situation. Consequently the Local is operating on a very very thin margin.
So beginning last year you saw the dues increase. That increase was voted on at the GL convention
by EVERYONE in the INTERNATIONAL. the Airline Division voted it down but you know what we only make
up about 8% of the WHOLE IAM . so our NO vote was trumped . Boeing and Harley Davidson make up a large
portion of the INTERNATIONAL and they have seen nice pay raises over the last 10 years.

So unless you want to dissolve your local and your Grievance Committee and EAP and everything else that comes
with it . I suggest you buy 1 or 2 less Diet sodas from the machine and grin and bare it. IT's the cost of doing
business.

FYI, I quit buying out of those machines a long time ago. I now only buy a Starbucks maybe once every 2 weeks when I use to do at LEAST 2 per day. As far a grin & bare it, maybe you can afford it. I can not. I have one other choice that I don't want to do but I've got to tell you I'm thinking of it.

Harry,
for what its worth, you belong to one of the most conservative locals on the system .
I know for a fact that PHL pays close to 70 bucks a month .and not quite sure what PIT pays but
ask some of your co-workers from PIT. CLT local only takes out what it NEEDS to OPERATE the local.
thats why WE don't send 10 people to conventions. and have Elaborate Christmas and Summer Partys.
WE don't have a sky box at panther stadium. etc etc. As painful as it might be I will say if having
a contract that keeps me employed and ensures my benefits cost me an extra 2.00 bucks a pay then
I'll take it. Cause you know as much as me that without the union . Parker would have sub contracted US
out a long time ago . Try working for those misfits at 10 bucks an hour an NO health insurance . NO
flt benefits etc etc.

Union dues at 1725 are twice the weighted hourly wage per classification, so take your hourly rate, differential , average all the fleet service in the station together and that is how the rate is achieved, I know when I was an officer at 1725 we got special dispensation for anyone making $12 or less.

And union dues are tax deductible.

Just remember what the company did to fleet in 92 when you see the union dues deduction on your paycheck and I think your opinion might change.

You have a pension, sick time, scope language and vacation, instead of no pension, PDOs, and a PPG.
