As to the consession question my opinion is that we just voted a huge
consession in. This might be debatable but not in my mind.

As to Dougs stoke purchase I will say point blank he did it to make
money. IMO it has to do with inside information and the image thast he did it to show confidence is just a colateral benifit to him. By some estimates the price of oil is due 60 to 80% to
speculation. The bubble will burst and the amatuer investers will
lose.

As to the long term for airlines the prognosis is grim even if the
oil price comes down to something more in line with supply and demand.
A growing number of experts (me of course included) think that
the government will have to step in. My source speculates the aid
will come in terms of fuel subsidies.

Freedom: Ive said before that PHX And LAS are special cases.
Three factors exist: 1. The very low pay prior to the TA. 2.
The fact that the old contract was amendable for three years
and therefore exacerbating the problem, and 3. The low cost of
living especially in PHX.

HP really had a class II station system only the class II stations
were the hubs. I don't know the exact figures but many stations
got geo pay as you know. I can see why you are opposed to the
class II station concept because the first logical consession to
be made would be in PHX and LAS. (sorry cheap shot but I
think there is a point here) Thanks BF

As said earlier on this board, management got the contract they wanted until 2012. Case Closed. If Freedom and management think the masses will be up for taking more concessions then they are 'sorely mistaken' and they apparently don't understand the resolve of the membership. The new AGC's understand this and they owe the membership, who put them in. I can assure you with 100% confidence that the new US AIRWAYS AGC's will not succomb to the ATA's underlying philosophy to continue making this industry a migrant worker industry, as opposed to raising ticket prices. If the pilots, stews, or other unions take concessions for stock then that will be on them. The unions are the 'visiting team' on the company's home field once they start tinkering with buying company stock with the wage. The masses get it handed to them in this industry once they give up wage for the stock scams.

It's up to the masses to keep their self worth and enpowerment as the unions don't care what the wage is since they continue getting dues no matter if you make $9 or $19.

Remember, even when airlines get concessions by crying bankruptcy, they still go bankrupt with concessions in hand and ask the judge for even more.

bagchucker: What's the lattest from your sta? Layoffs? cut flts?
Hope you doing well ...BF

Our cargo facility is closing at the end of the month and we stopped handling one of the ramp contracts for an OAL in May, so our headcount has dropped. The company has substituted a couple RJ's for flights that were always mainline... so the writing is on the wall if you ask me. I check the Job postings daily, and once I see my opportunity to transfer... I am jumping out of the sinking ship at my station. Attrition has accounted for the loss in head count so far, nobody has been laid off... yet.

after thinking about it, it dawned on me that concessions might not be one way .... this company will indeed need concessions at some point , but we as tim pointed out don't HAVE to give them anything (we will anyways ) but perhaps we can bargain back our 19 field stations! their not gone till 2011 , the company maybe unsure if we will even be around by that time , so they may be more than willing to return them to us for moderate concessions ..

Also about BK , the idea is to make sure we do NOT return to BK ...concessions will HAVE to be made , there's no talking your way out of it ... but at least we did make some improvments fromt he last contract ..

As the econmic climate worsens you'll all see why there will be the need for concessions ... i don't expect many of you to understand at this point in time .

Freedom,

Pull your head out. We did not make improvements from the last contract. Everything bartered had a price. You may have extra pocket change now but it was at a price. Dollar for dollar we actually gave up more than what we got in return overall. Mr. Nelson made it basic in stating it was a three for one sale. With that said the cost neutral transition agreement became a concession.
We just signed our concessionary agreement. Now, it is every one elses turn!

freedom, I promise you at the rate this outfit is heading, those 19 cities will BE GONE prior to 2011. And once theyre gone, THEY WONT BE BACK! That is a guarantee. If they come back for concessions, then may be its time to shut it down as far as Feet is concerned, Concessions are done with there is no more to give up we got the worst contract every in airline history

I'm glad you don't expect many of us to understand because I haven't got the faintest notion of what your talking about.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but as ive stated a few times before I'm in a tiny station that i believe has sprung a leak and the sinking has slowly begun.
The broken record part: I want to transfer out of here. I hear almost every other day different versions about the status of tranfers and vacancy fillings. Can someone tell me for certain what we can do and when we can do? Is there a freeze on transfers and vacancy fillings? I need to know... I can't swim!!!!!!!

Freedom, first of all stop talking down to us like we are a bunch of morons, maybe some respect your opinions but with your outlandish company koolaid laced posts you of long since lost credibilty with the masses. I believe the saying better to be thought of as a fool than open ones mouth and remove all doubt comes to mind.
If you're such an economic and market expert why are you throwing bags in an airplane is Edward Jones not hiring??

Do you really think Parker buying 197,000 shares of US impresses any of us NO!! let him forgo his salary along with his lackey Scooter like the CO ceo and president did and maybe we will be impressed.
as others have said so well the concession stand is closed! They will have to steal it from us

we are electing real union men and women not a bunch of company yes men like Cheap Suits and his band of clowns

The T/A will only allow west to east transfers after OEI. OEI is estimated to be Nov. 3

The concessions were made when you voted the POS T/A in...just ask the soon to be contracted out 19 stations that got thrown under the airbus....

No argument that the TA is POS, we tried to tell them, just remember who negotiated this POS! It wasn't ND08? I think it was (you guessed,Randaroo and crew) and he wonder's why his ass is being handed to him during this election?

Freedom…

I’ve been reading your posts for over a year and half… and honestly… I have no clue as to what you are about!

I have never seen such a juxtaposition of convoluted, and conflicting concepts, and analogies… in any written materials that I have ever read in my life!

I this stuff supposed to be some kind of a joke… or distraction?

We won't have to worry about Randy again. I really wish him the best and a good retirement. I dont' even care if he goes for that management consulting job.
