Dear CLT: I just want to express my deep appreciation for those of you
who intend to vote today. By voting you become more involved. By becoming
more involved you make our union stronger. There probably won't be another
vote on anything for two more years so now's the time.

Of course I'm a huge supporter of ND08 as most of you are. When my station
votes on the 24th I am going to do everything I can to get out the vote. We
have about 90 UA and about 65 US in SAN. But for now I just want to encourage
every possible vote in CLT. GO CLT! And special thanks to all the active CLT
members who are working thier butts off for what they believe in. Thanks BF

Let me ask you this,

What happens if US files Chapter 11 again and then the ND team is forced to negotiate concessions with US or face an abrogation once again?

Here's your answer: If US files for Chapter 11 then the ND team will likely be forced to
negotiate concessions or face abrogation. But as to your implied point that the ND
Team would do no better than Randy I don't have a strong opinion. That's been
battled out here ad infinitum. What do you think? Even giving the edge to
Randy he loses so heavily on "Style Points" as to make the choice obvious to me.

I'm a west guy I have my own reasons for wanting Randy out. Here's
a few of them. 1. They screwed the west field stations with geo pay.
2. They actively campained for a TA which they knew would have failed
had the let the collective will prevail. 3. They allowed and encouraged
unfair access to the ballot box. 4. They lied and missled many on the
what the likelyhood of the west being rolled into the east contract. 5.
they voided votes in the nomitation process with what I believe was
outright fraud if not just sleezy malfesance.

I remember during the first IBT campaign one of your big points was change
the leadership not the union. So more or less by default that's what's
being done. In the end IMO it cant help but strengthen the IAM.

Thanks BF

Don't worry about us. We'll be alright! Find another "what if" somewhere else and impress them with your knowledge!

At the very least, we will have someone who will actually negotiate! It is a confirmed fact that Canale leaves the negotiations room, and has private talks with the Company while the rest of the committee sits in bewilderment.

These “back room deals†are unacceptable to this Membership! That is why we
are…ahem… “relieving†ourselves of this liability known as “Team 2008â€.

Scare tactics will not work on us to change this decision… we are well aware of how this industry operates. Contrary to what the IAM upper officers believe… this Membership has the intelligence, conviction, and wherewithal to govern our own destiny.

Question

Are all CLP and Tower people considered leads under our contract? Is the lead premium added to your base pay or is it separated on your check? I have been asked these questions by our Tower people in PHX.

District 141 Update: SFO Local 1781

Delaney 153
Canale 132

New Direction wins both SFO locals. CLT, PIT, MSP, ATL should be putting the stake in the heart of the Canale Concession stand today. Let's get this done.

Something wonderful is going to happen.....something wonderful.

regards,

Tim Nelson

It was not scare tactics, it was a legitimate question.

It was not scare tactics, it was a legitimate question.

Isn't that question a "suppose-atory"?

It isn't really a legitimate question. You are requesting people to forcast unknown situations. Your question can not be answered with statements of fact because the situation may or may not occur. If the question was directed to you (if you were still driving a parts truck or if the Mechanic and Related had not negotiated your lav work away) how would you approach dealing with the Company if they drug us through the BK wringer again? You, having experienced negotiations during BK, can't tell me that you would deal with the situation in the same way as before and not learn from previous mistakes. Randy is like a skipping record, he keeps making the same mistakes and evolves with changing excuses. Because of this we want to go in a New Direction.

Under our Contract, it is implied. The work in the Tower requires that they lead and direct. With the signing of the contract in 1999, the east hubs have leads manning the Tower. CLP contractually requires no minimum lead ratio (Article 4. D.). I do not know how they have utilized leads historically.

It was not scare tactics, it was a legitimate question.

I have taken a break for about a week and just been watching in particular, the supporters of the presumptive winners of the New Directions Team 08. Yet I find myself in the unlikely position in supporting 700UW's point of view. I can only hope the ND08 leadership to be far more tolerant of dissenting opinions than what their supporters have demonstrated on this board.

I am no admirer of Boss Canale as Bagfather rightfully listed several excellent points calling into question the current IAM's leaderships willingness to be open and truthful on issues affecting the membership. However, the boorish groupthink mentalities of many ND08 supporters on this board leads me to think that not much will change. When 700UW ask a legitimate question, he is accused of using "scare tactics" (while a bigger scare tactic has been the implicit threat to use physical harm by some on this board against those who disagree with the ND08 Team). When I question if JN can be elected as a Trustee even though he is no longer an employee, then I am accused of releasing his personal medical information (as if I even knew about any medical issue in the first place). When Freedom postulates his many assertions, then he is ridiculed and mocked. Will the ND08 leadership begin the beatings until the membership morale improves?

Many in here lament the lack of member voting on this election, as if more people voting would offer legitimacy to the ND08's coup of the IAM leadership. However, the ND08's supporters cannot fathom the apathy that exist on this matter; so allow me to help you understand... for as the song goes, "Meet the New Boss. Same as the Old Boss (Canale)."

So Croons Jester.

Mr. Jester...

You may want to consider retiring the worn out cliché... “Groupthinkâ€￾.
ND08 supporters now number in thousands …a far cry from the handful of radical posters like me, here in this forum!

Perhaps, phraseology like “Mass-Thinkâ€￾ or “Majority-Thinkâ€￾ may be more appropriate now.

Yer Southern Buddy…

P.S. We saved ahh spot fer yahh at tha Throw-Down… Yahh in ?

Jester who are you? Ive told you who I am. some people have said that you are management. I really dont care but it would be nice to know who you are. Im sure once the DOL and certain government officials contact the employer everthing will be restored to normal. This union cannot let the company IGNORE FMLA rights. I hope you are in agreement with me, otherwise all employees are in dire stress. I was ran out while they ignored my FMLA right, other employees have been brought back that had more severe discipline and have had more than 20+ no shows. Us on the west and in hubs have never had an equal attendance policy, simply because the supervisors never enforced it. Jester Im calling you out, Who are You? You made it appoint to make it known that I was terminated, but failed to say that I have a legitimate medical condition that qualifies for FMLA. You made it known in a public forum.

NevadaHP,

So that's the rumor flying amongst the PMs? I am part of management? I have made several posts on this board completely denying any management position, even in as temporary supervisor role. Might I assume these are attempts to discredit my posts? Or perhaps I have not toe-the-line on the collectivist labor lovefest? Or maybe I am just polysyllabic? Who I am, given I am not management would be unimportant, especially even though we may feel as if our breakrooms to be from prison setting, it does not require my affilation with a large gang for protection, but rather just maintain anonymity. As you choose to identify yourself, I am under no obligation of reciprocity.

I support FMLA, but I also understand that given your high profile position within the LAS IAM, and with Management looking for excuses to terminate positions, in general, I most assure you that I would have exercised my FMLA rights well within the requirement and guidelines keeping managers fully informed in writing. I won't repeat what my sources in LAS have said about the campfire as it would constitute hearsay and rumor mongering, but as for I would be accused of additional dasterly deeds. I am like Hughes Airwest... all kinds of contacts in those former stations.

And finally, My Dear Gentle Roabilly:
I understand you to be in a tether regarding the ND08 Victory, but let's not confuse the rantings of a few within an online mutual admiration groupthink collective with the fact that some large stations did not even get 20% to vote on the election and didn't one small station have NOBODY vote? Beside groupthink can become like mass hysteria and does not demand only a small segment of a population. Fortunate for all concerned that a non-vote did not constitute a vote to decertify as combined votes from both sides would have lost in a landslide.

And gracious as to be your offer to partake in Carolina BBQ, I sampled some in the CLT food court recently and my bowles are still recovering.

So Declines Jester.
