As for you Rat tales … oh that’s a nice photo shop you did , would you like a cookie , how about a star ? Are you five years old or what ?

Give my second grader more props than that freedom. He told me "Do I have computer skillz or what Pops?"

He also graded your last post and told me his teacher would give you 3 frownie faces for your sentence structure. 🙁 🙁 🙁

I agree with you that meetings can be snoozers and they should not be held in hotels, but maybe that will change when the District stops holding your dues money intended for your local hostage. From what I understand your local is furious that they are not seeing a dime of dues money from the US Airways ramp group. That adds up to a ton of money. If the International were not paying the TWU $265,000 in payoff money each year the local could probably have a building built. Until then, make the best of it and attend anyway. Making the required amount of boring meetings makes you eligible to do other things like organizing. You can not be considered unless you show interest.

actually i should have been more specific , the hotel is right outside of the airport , so in that sense i'll give them props for making the meetings very convient .. it would be even better if they could have the meetings where they had the vote , if that was the case i think even more memebers might attend..

tim: with the 141 convention coming up , " concerning dues" ---- what is the position of the new direction team -- concerning how the dues are determined --- were hearing anything from percentages to flat rate . thank you

The district does not determine how dues are calculated, that is done by the International Constitution, which can only be changed once every four years at the Grand Lodge Convention.

IAM Local 1725 (CLT) has delegates elected, and ready to go to the Grand Lodge Convention to address the dues restructuring issue.

Another lesson that I’ve learned is that no matter what happens , a union should never allow it’s self to be split pay rate wise the way the class one and class two cities were .

Freedom,

A union should never allow itself to be split seniority wise either. Everyone should go by the same seniority system, just the way we should all go by the same pay system. Until we do this union will never be as one. There will always be animosity amongst the ramp workforce until the seniority system is changed to place everyone on a level playing field.

I've been reading comments made by Freedom on the merger thread,
when I read his comments on this thread I'm apalled. He's either management
or management wannabe. The task at hand is too remove the district leadership and the
slug agc's, let's move on guy's, the votes behind us. The west has to have support
now and Phl will welcomes them with open arms...................................

IAM dues restructure once every 4 years is the norm. Alas , the more you make , the more dues come out of your check. There is no getting around that but the percentage going up once every four years is the norm. Possibly putting pressure on IAM to get rid of initiation fees for new hires if dues percentage goes up would be practical and/or will make the IAM see it is one way or another. Just a notion. Will this be decided on before the new direction gets elected? Ask Delaney. The IAM cannot have it both ways.

CANALE FINALE RALLY !

Attention all CLT Fleet Service Members, The vote is coming up soon!
Below is the Date, Time, and Place… Be there!

freedom,
You want my take on the overpaid agcs.. There salary should be NO more than 2 x the rate of the highest member they represent

and any future raises just be based on a percentage of the total compensation package they get for the membership not tied just to hourly

rate. Why do you think they look the other way and don't fight for more scope / vac / holiday / shift premium . Yep you guessed it

they don't get anything from that. the only ones that benefit from that is the god for saken members.....

Oriole... I feel they should get no more than 2X the LOWEST paid group. That way they will ALWAYS want to increase the lowest paid members. Obviously I am talking about the topout wage not the "new hire" wage. For instance, 2X what we make versus the 2X what UA makes. Then they would want to increase us to give themselves a raise.

Why is it that the iam can't put out some sort of document stating exactly when each thing in the t/a starts? Such as; The new pay rate for the West starts on this Day _______. The East starts on this day_______. Do we get Memorial Day this year? Yes or No. What exact day do we combine workforces? What exact day do those of us that have nore than 100 sick days on the books start receiving 100% sick pay when calling in sick? These are just a few of the questions that need to be spelled out. Otherwise the dates that they should go into effect could come and go, and we'd never know it. Plus it would eliminate all of the speculation.

there is a simple answer for that, this leadership could care less now they have the yes vote they wanted now they are off on the golf course.Treating the general memebership like a mushroom(keep us in the dark and feed us BS) is a trademark of this leadership group.

You want a change?? Vote for the NewDirection08 team in June. Let's get people there who care about the working man for a change rather than looking to line their pockets at your expense. People who will challenge the company for you and your rights. Instead of Dougie and Al's yes men we have now

As far as the IAM is concerned, they did put out that document! It was entitled… “FINAL TRANSITION AGREEMENTâ€, it was reached on May, 08, 2008. It can be downloaded from the 141 district web site.

One thing you can do to simplify this agreement is to create a liner time line.

Start by drawing a horizontal line in the middle of the entire length of an 8.5x 11 sheet of typing paper. At the far left hand side of the page… make a notation that reads ratification date… on the far right hand side of the page make a notation of December 31, 2011. (Amendable Date) Now go through the Transition Agreement, and make date specific notations along the time line… as to when each Article for East and West of the agreement becomes effective.

I have done this…and it works very well… I can look at one glance, and determine which articles are effective now, and which ones will be effective later, and at what date.

P.S. the IAM ain’t gonna to make it easier for us… We (The Membership) have to take the initiative!

It’s for that reason... that we're gonna displace the current leadership this June!

Sup RR , I agree with you about the seniority system , I was under the impression that things were date of hire , but I guess not eh ? You see that’s the way it’s always been in PHX so I don’t have a problem with it ..

As for that time table you talk about , the company put a memo out here in PHX outlining the time line and when the different changes take effect ..have you tried checking the fleet service area on the company website?

Dear b737200 … I am not management , nor do I wish to be management , I happen to like my job and I want to keep working for our airline , which means that I want our airline to continue to exist so I can continue to make money …. You may not personally LIKE Doug parker , but I think you can admit he’s good at what he does .. I used to be AWA , and if we hadn’t merged with US airways our doors would have been shut long long ago … I’m not going to get into a debate about management style with you , but those are my views and if you don’t like them then you can go load the forward bin of an A321 by yourself .

I’d like to URGE all of you to remember to VOTE FOR RON ROTH …. Ask yourselves , why is it there are incumbents who are already working with RC on the new direction team , but not RR the best union guy we have ?

Why is it these people pushing for the new direction team fight so hard against the man who is undoubtedly the most solid candidate out of ALL of the nominees or incumbents ?

Have any of the current UNION officials or people vying for union positions been suspended because they’ve fought TOO hard for the worker ? I highly DOUBT it … Ron has been suspended NUMEROUS times in defense of the worker and each time he keeps coming back , like an unrelenting force .

Ron Roth is like a union leader of old …too many people nowadays think of unions like a business ,some sort of corporate game where if you have better lawyers than the other side everything will turn out fine , but I think RR understands where the true strength of unions comes from and is not only able , but willing to wield that strength to secure the future of our union

Freedom...

Please tell me more about Ron Roth. I would love to see his resume...
Get with him, and have it posted here online.
