Joe,

My sources in LAS tell me that one of those Trustees positions that you mentioned was fired a couple weeks ago due to an insane number of late shows approaching nearly 100 times. The story goes that "Opie" was given all the verbal, written and a few corrective action warnings and he still continued to come to work over an hour late regularly.

Don't cash this ticket too quickly.

So Checks Jester.
Jester, I don't think it is too cool to bust on someone for a medically diagnosed problem that is covered under FMLA. There's more to it than what you post and I think it is incredibly unfair to bring up someone's medical condition in a public forum. I don't even think Team 2008 went that far even though they are aware of the situation.

*also heard ORD strong ND along with JFK, PHX not a huge turnout (70 or so)
but most voting ND............no breakroom ballots this time.

The low numbers in PHX weren't because of breakroom voting. Notice of the elections wasn't even posted here until 3 days ago. 1 per concourse which we torn down because of all the RC & RR anti new direction propaganda on it. When I asked people if they were voting today the answer was " what are we voting for?".

These people got their raises, that's all they care about as sad as it sounds. So even though we couldn't vote in te breakroom I don't believe the numbers would have been me higher even if we did. Lack of communication was the problem and with all the Randy and Ron supporters here, I think were better off that way.

Your company is not a stand alone carrier and needed United airlines. Now there are reports about liquidation later this year. I think fleet service needs Randy Canale more now than ever. Things will get difficult for US AIRWAYS and they will have to demonstrate that they can achieve concessions before an investor will invest. Delaney is more of a hard liner and it may be difficult for him to open up your contract for additional concessions. Such a position may risk liquidation.

Farce…

Looks like yahh better git ready tahh start hob knobbin’ with tha new sheriff in town (ND08)!

I’m totally perplexed as to your flip flopping statements. First… we were at risk of liquidation if we did not ratify this last agreement, sans the COC language. Now… we are at risk of liquidation if we vote Mr. Canale out!

It seems as if this “liquidation†weapon is being wielded by both the Company and the Union… but more so by the Union! What better way is there to orchestrate a campaign to achieve your goals? It is called absolute deterrence, or total intimidation, to assert control upon the masses.

This practice was used successfully by the Roman Empire… with public executions and crucifixions!

would someone in ORD please wake Nelson off the breakroom sofa?!!
Lol

DL 141 District Election Update

Just got back and I see the ORD numbers were posted along with the PHL numbers.
Alot of voided ballots for the 4 year AGC because members are forgetting to vote for Ray Wallis on the New Direction ticket, probably at least 100 in ORD alone. Note that for future reference.

JFK: I didn't get the official but I believe Canale only got 9 votes out of over 300. It was brutal for the entire Team 2008 as they experienced 'great pain' in United's JFK Local.

MCO: Didn't get the numbers yet but the turnout was low, something less than 100 total votes

PHX: unofficially something like 55 Delaney, 15 Canale. Very poor turnout as the New Direction was expecting a bigger turnout since we had 'solid support' in PHX.
As aside, that's why PHL and CLT votes at the local, so it conditions members to go and vote. The fact that PHX was able to vote at the airport last month did nothing to encourage union participation.

IAD: Very low turnout, unoffically 180 voters. The new direction team won this local. This is a powerful '#### slap' against Canale since this was perhaps his only hub that he thought he had a chance to get support out of. Sorry Randy.

IND: unclear

First day unoffical totals:

Delaney: 2175+
Canale: 500

Differential is New Direction +1675 votes after only one day.

Up tomorrow is LAX, DEN, DTW, CLE, SFO [1782].

A few Sidebars:

The New Direction team will need your total support throughout the month as we want to push for over 75% of the vote since we can safely assume that Randy Canale will dispute many station votes to try to save his job and keep 'hijacking' the member's rights. Knowing Canale, I won't feel comfortable if the New Direction only picks up 60% of the vote. If we get over 70% of the vote then I doubt the INTL gets involved in such a landslide.

At any rate, In ORD, I can tell you without question that Randy himself screwed things up even worse here when he decided to kick Delaney back to the ramp. Not even Randy's 'tough soldiers' here in ORD could 'limit the damage' Randy caused by kicking Rich back to the ramp.

Tim,

I never mentioned anything about anyone's medical condition, but continue to free feel to accuse me of things that I never said or even implied. As I have heard, the LAS breakroom is abuzz with JN's termination as by all accounts he was a very decent and pleasant person, and I could only wish him the best given the medical issues he faces as I trust my sources opinions about the man. Finally, my sources never mentioned anything medically related, so shame on you for bringing to light his personal medical problems into this very public forum.

So Retorts Jester.

P.S. I did not vote, because I would desire both sides to lose.

Jester,

So you and everyone else knows I am JN. I reported my medical condition to the company weeks ago and asked for FMLA and they never provided me the pwk. I was suspended 4 days after asking for FMLA pwk and the company only gave me the pwk after I was suspended and terminated 1 day later. By the way its not in the hundreds. I have since seen my medical physician and he has filled out the appropriate pwk and I would hope all employees and union officials stand up to the company, to uphold their FMLA rights. If Canale and his curent leadership are not gonna put a stand to the employee rights than someone else must. I do have faith in current leadership to apply appropriate pressure given the circumstances but this needs to be resolved immediately. The D.O.L and N.E.R.C. are currently involved. Its funny how you know about "opie" i got that nickname in RNO about 5 years ago and not too many people know about that in LAS. Anyhow i Hope that this situation gets resolved rather quickly, the comapny has made several references to this issue only being resolved through arbitration, well I hope the D.O.L. creates serious pain for the company for not following the FMLA act.

good luck to you NevadaHP I wish you the very best! as for the ND08, Go kick out the canary bird team

good luck to you NevadaHP ,it's disgusting any of this was brought up in a public forum but given the source I am not surprised

Jester,

Your post was opportunistic, misinformed, and lost you credibility.
Throwing mud on hearsay can bite back. I think it did

Jester knows quite well what the story was, as he said he has 'top sources' in LAS. Jester's post served no useful purpose other than trying to take a shot while someone is down.

We've seen this before.

Not even Canale 'stooped' to this level.

District 141 Election Update:

The official numbers for various Locals came in late last night. For those keeping a running total, things are getting 'nasty' for Canale. The election appears that it will officially be
'mathematically over' after the CLT and PIT vote next THursday, provided that CLT gets a great turnout. I could think of no better place to put the last nail in the Canale concession stand coffin than CLT.
However, Canale is evil and I think we can all 'safely' assume that if the New Direction gets less than 70% of the total vote, then Canale will most likely challenge a big block of votes and try to throw out the results. That is why it remains important for even the small locals towards the end of the month to do their part and be part of history in finally eliminating the oppressive Board of Director.

Official numbers:

Station Total eligible Delaney Canale
JFK 425 266 9
OMA 125 58 0
ORD 4,500 1229 287
PHL 1,575 684 90
_____________________________________________
TTL 6,625 2,237 386

Editor's note: 24,500 eligible so 6,625 represents 27% of the vote already cast

The "All-Nelson" award for yesterday goes to OMA. Being a small station, they made their voice heard loud and clear with a 'shutout'. I don't mean to be crude to the Team 2008 team but in all honesty, if this was a 'pop warner' league game, it would have already been called because of this 'senseless brutality'. A month ago, Boss Canale called for Rich's resignation, I think the manly and decent thing for Canale to do at this time is to offer Delaney his resignation now so the district can be unified for the first time post-Thiede. I mean, even Canale benefits from resigning at this time, then he will be able to get his 'IAM Watch' and there shouldn't be any hard feelings.

District 141 Officer Election: IAD, MCO

IAD voted Delaney but wish to have the numbers kept private. Turnout was 161.

MCO voted Delaney but wish to have the numbers kept private.

Wednesday Stations: DEN, SFO, LAX, CLE, DTW
We fully anticipate to lock down SFO, LAX, DEN, CLE. Check back early tomorrow morn to see which of these get the "All-Nelson" Award for exhibiting the greatest solidarity in thier stand against the United Board of Director.

On deck for Thursday is LAS where we will continue to inflict 'great pain' on the United Board of Director.
