IAM FLEET SERVICE

I am a FNG and need someone to break this down without using rhetoric or assuming I am current with the political standings of all involved. I don't care about "juice", I want good info.

I agree with all you say Roadtrip!

Arms and Flynnie are examples of the thuggery that has gone on, but you also need to be realistic on what you will get in return. I have a very good feeling that at the end of the day you will force Arms' wife to have to finally find a job to support that big house, but you are not going to have any juice to get the contract you think you can get. What you were offered is as good as it is going to ever get, but our friend Timmy will mislead you guys until he becomes a part of the 100K club!

Realistic you say? Spoken like a true AGC!

Fact one ARMs is gone out of the picture working as an AGC in some other district not US or UA workers problem now.

Fact Two Flynnie is not a Thug he is AGC that took advantage of the workers even his brother from what other workers have stated!

You also stated "What you were offered is as good as it is going to ever get" Spoken like a true worshiper of Canale . You keep spreading crap like this to United and USAirways workers and we will all be making 9 bucks an hour and the AGCs will be making 500,000 a year!

We are not going to take it anymore

Come on guys. Stop the pissing contest. This thread is about the upcoming TA. It is not about whether the District 141 leadership is good or bad. It is not about whether or not Tim has good or bad motives. It's not aobut who is or isn't an AGC. You guys fight like 3 year olds in a sand box. Grow up. Or at least start your own thread.

Your right. The question is will we get a fair deal? Will we even get a chance to vote? Or will the powers that be just impose a T/A on us without us having any say so what so ever? There are plenty of people like me who have Had Enough and will not take it anymore.

Goldenram,

Indeed time will tell. We'll see who's misleading who in February and if Parker's boy has the 'juice'. Him and Parker are tighter than two coats of paint.
What is clear to expect, once the opposing ticket is officially named, is that the AGC's running for office in 2 years will make political attempts to 'save their jobs' for the next election in 2 years. Those running for district position this time are 'doomed' and will experience 'great pain' as they have to once again put on their ramp uniform....'soon enough'.

Like I figured. Smoke and no fire, with a whole lot of schadenfreude.

When it comes down to it, you have no clue. Your constant badgering about $100 oil shows how clueless you are. This industry has changed, and you have no clue just how much it has.

This industry has changed not because of anything but $$100 oil and 911........911 is gone and $$100 oil is still here, yet you guys negotiate like both are

still holding us hostage....Get some Balls and get some results.....thats what we're trying to tell you. It's time to settle for nothing less than at least 1/2 or

more of what we gave up. Stop still trying to take from us.......

I imagine the negotiating has already happened so we shall see........

I was just wondering at what dollar figure does "dignity and respect" kick in?

Golden,
still waiting on an answer ,

I'll repeat the question. IF your not an AGC then what position do you hold with fleet and wear,

having such a great personality that you have I'm sure you have some friends that can vouch for you.

The environment has changed. This isn't a bankrupt environment anymore so we must demand industry standard pay [$21hr]. US AIRWAYS has the second best balance sheet in the airline industry, and analyst have said that US AIRWAYS is not a player until it takes care of its labor strife AND it needs to finally transition.
That's the leverage and that's why your company is at the negotiations table now as opposed to 2009. It's called Leverage and it's with fleet service.

Your company is spending money on changing out to new uniforms, new ramp equipment, new and improved contracts for its officers, new VP's, and is excited about being a player in the upcoming mergers. But it wants to do this without paying you folks what rampers at all the other airlines make. It's not right and it is treason against the workers.

Unfortunately, your union bosses are company moutpieces so the real negotiations started when fleet service overwhelmingly rejected the last contract offer. Further, although Boss Canale offered hot air when United airlines paid out millions to its stockholders, why hasn't he mentioned Parker's new contract with additional enhancements and $????????

At any rate, Parker still needs something that fleet service got, a transition agreement. That's the only reason why he's negotiating now as opposed to 2009. Bottom line.

Screw his transition and let the company experience 'pain' until it treats fleet service with dignity and respect as represented in a fair contract. We will force him to acknowledge that he isn't in bankrupcty anymore. Things are positively charged on the ramps and a unified as ever.

For me no less than $20 and no extention and annual increases better than the pittiful amount that we got. The east and west under the same contract. This way we can move forward and take the issue up again in two years. To me this would be an accceptible starting point. Some would say I want it all back. We lost that opportunity with the COC. At some point we have to be realist.

I have been on the ramp a long time and have never seen the unity that we are seeing now. Numerous people ask me on a daily basis what is the latest news. Many others discuss what is happening on USAviation. The network is expanding quickly.

I was just wondering at what dollar figure does "dignity and respect" kick in?
It depends on the environment. In a bankrupt environment it is well represented in your present contract.
Fortunately, the environment has changed and your company has the second best balance sheet in the industry while it desperately tries to finally transition the company, thankfully out of bankruptcy. This is the negotiating environment and the leverage is with the union.

Nonetheless, it would be quite greedy to ask for the highest wage in the industry [see WN].
What's fair and equitable is always represented by industry standards. That's a fair thing to ask for and right now it is $21hr. Benefits also should play into things.

regards,

Can anyone explain to me how a person can make below the minimum wage in the state they work in and belong to the IAM.

700/Golden Ram...Its because of the contract........period......so before you talk about how well you've negotiated better than most or most don't have a

clue, PLEASE GET ONE

$21/hr is not unrealistic. In fact it represents a big consession relative to past
wages. Don't forget inflation. $23/hr in '95 would be about $30/hr today.
A united ticket agent in 2000 with 30 yrs made over $30/hr. What would
that be with inflation today. OK we have 2001 and the global economy.

The TSAs need to be paid. But what do they get? $5/per ticket? If our
union does not fight for us, we'll get another mediocre TA. Why
are they taking no risks? Do they feel that just because half of PHX
doesn't care they have a window of opportunity to slip something by us.

To me it's more about justice that fairness. What's right here? Are we
supposed to lay down while the company and the other labor groups run
over us? Does anybody think the pilots wont push for the limit?

IMO the merger cannot be used as an excuse to force another consession
on FS. If we cannot influence the out come of the next TA then we c an
work to get rid of the current IAM leadership. For me it's not about
money[or "scope" for that matter]; it's about justice . We can't
let the IAM and the company get away with this. They've used us. and
in particular they've used the low pay in PHX/LAS to leverage the rest of us.
IMO it' an understatement to say dropping section 6 negotiations has
put us in this position.

And the IAM just sits by and lets it happen. In a sense I agree with
Canally and his AGCs. It was a "fair contract". But there was no justice
to it. And although I think the numbers are in our favor as far as
company solvency, even if they weren't, It will still not be just until
FS get's the deal they desearve.

The IAM has made the companies fight too easy. They believe
thier own propaganda. They are hopeless. Thank you BF
