Come on guys. Stop the pissing contest. This thread is about the upcoming TA. It is not about whether the District 141 leadership is good or bad. It is not about whether or not Tim has good or bad motives. It's not aobut who is or isn't an AGC. You guys fight like 3 year olds in a sand box. Grow up. Or at least start your own thread.
The environment has changed. This isn't a bankrupt environment anymore so we must demand industry standard pay [$21hr]. US AIRWAYS has the second best balance sheet in the airline industry, and analyst have said that US AIRWAYS is not a player until it takes care of its labor strife AND it needs to finally transition.
That's the leverage and that's why your company is at the negotiations table now as opposed to 2009. It's called Leverage and it's with fleet service.
Your company is spending money on changing out to new uniforms, new ramp equipment, new and improved contracts for its officers, new VP's, and is excited about being a player in the upcoming mergers. But it wants to do this without paying you folks what rampers at all the other airlines make. It's not right and it is treason against the workers.
Unfortunately, your union bosses are company moutpieces so the real negotiations started when fleet service overwhelmingly rejected the last contract offer. Further, although Boss Canale offered hot air when United airlines paid out millions to its stockholders, why hasn't he mentioned Parker's new contract with additional enhancements and $????????
At any rate, Parker still needs something that fleet service got, a transition agreement. That's the only reason why he's negotiating now as opposed to 2009. Bottom line.
Screw his transition and let the company experience 'pain' until it treats fleet service with dignity and respect as represented in a fair contract. We will force him to acknowledge that he isn't in bankrupcty anymore. Things are positively charged on the ramps and a unified as ever.
