Lith, Al has now lost it. He realizes the solidarity is awesome on the ramp. He has sent his stooge negotiators to the breakrooms thinking that they can continue talking down to the workers. Now Al himself, in a desperate attempt, is answering emails blowing smoke.
I heard the reason why the company is sending its negotiators around is because the Union can't since when the union negotiators go into breakrooms, they are shown the door.

Did Al tell you that he doesn't think you're worth having in the profit sharing plan? Did he give you his spin that the company really lost $80 million last year since they projected to make $500 million instead of $427?
I'm curious, did Al tell you that he wants to screw the workers over by insulting them and putting the 60 day rule back in? Did he tell you he proposed that a couple weeks ago?
Did Al tell you that he doesn't think the human beings working in 19 stations are worth enough to offer the protections that 19 west stations need? Did he tell you that?
Why don't you email Al and ask him to debate me on this forum since he's answering your emails? Lith, all AL wants to do is steal your socks with leaving your shoes on.
Ask him why he wants you to lose benefits. Start asking Al those questions then you'll see. Better yet, don't ask him one question, just tell him screw transition, screw management, screw investors, screw everything.
It's TNP time, Take no prisoners. It's all BS from management until they learn to respect fleet service.

Hey I've got an idea...maybe the current regime can be put under the 60 day rule and only qualify for it if they appologize and send all the dues monies back to the furloughed people that have paid their salaries for all those years.........nah....the int'l will just make it an assesment on the membership.

Just begone with them......

Why is anc voting , thats a contract station?

I hope the new direction remembers the cities that were slaughtered in 05. If you get rid of the 60 day rule it must be retroactive. If not, you are not worth a crap as a union. Can you imagine ALPA saying "out of sight out of mind" to their furloughes.
JR
I agree with you 100% on this one. We need anyone who is in contact with those on the N/C to let them know how important this issue still is to those of us on furlough. I'm sure that Tim or someone else can post a list of all involved in negotiations, so we know who to contact with our concerns. I still can't believe that the company is dead set on keeping qualified employees out on the street over a few bucks in pay. Out of between 700-800, how many would actually come back at this point? I would guess MAYBE 1/2, if that many. Personally, I don't think that the IAM leadership has pushed this issue enough with the company in negotiations. It isn't one of their top priorities, but it still needs to be addressed to make good on a huge injustice done to some of it's members in 2005. Let's get in touch with those on the N/C, and let them know this 60 day rule is still important to those of us on the street, with many of us having 20+ years of service.

IMO the current IAM leadership has agreed with the company to let this issue silently.
slip away. The companies position would be they can't afford it. The IAM has
basically agreed to accomodate this position. Both the company and the IAM
are using you as a bargaining chip. That is to say"OK we'll give you higher wages
if you let us dump the fuloughed FS.

The company needs to understand that we are not here to get a contract which
is by far the cheapest industry wide with by far the most conciliatory language.
PHX and Ron Roth were ready to dump you for a few bucks. It's beyond them
to think that both the east and the west can get a deal that is fair.

It's up to us to force both the company and the union to see what's right.
If a TA comes out with anything less than a fair deal I will vote NO. And
I will actively campaign for a no vote.

There are people in the west and even in the west hubs who would support
you. But it's a tough sell do to the williness of the union to put expediency
ahead of integrity. Thanks BF

It is basic justice for the 60 day rule to be lifted, and the revocation needs to be applied retroactively. The fact is, few of those employees would come back, but those few deserve justice. Plus with upcoming mergers, this language needs to disappear from the face of the earth before more US fleet are sold out.

New Directions needs to sweep clean, and lose EVERY SINGLE CANALE hanger-on. Don't retain a single one of them.

Did a single one of them stand opposed to the selling out of fleet employees?

Yes but how do you force a fair TA? LCC has a legal and binding contract till end of 2009 that would hold up in any court.

But on the other hand, the company can afford to keep the revolving door hiring theme running with no end in sight. Not to mention the thousands of hours being spent to train these people on a regular basis. Sounds like they are spending $20 to save $10.....

And with Parker saying that US will sit out the Merger Mania, there is no desire to offer up anything.

West Workers suppressed some more!
