Had my life ever been predicated on USAir/whatever airline being my "glory years", as you seem to do with AWA...I'd have had no life. Nice try though. 😉snapthis said:Just for you, Eastus. Relive your glory years. 🙄

Good-Bye U.S Airways
Thanks for the correction!swamt said:Not DFW. Dallas Love Field. Also included is Chicago.

2 Gates each at BOS, ORD, DFW, LAX, MIA
Maintain hubs consistent with historical ops for 3 years at JFK, LAX, MIA, ORD, CLT, PHL, PHX
8 of the 52 slot pairs will be sold (Jetblue) the rest surrendered to the DOJ.
Commuter slots at DCA will still serve small-medium cities.
Wrong as usual, those easties are the Washington Generals of predictions.snapthis said:I thought you said the merger is dead. It's not the merger but USAPA which is near death. Buh-bye fake union.

Somehow I think you have the very misinformed notion that ALL east pilots will mourn the loss of US Airways and/or USAPA. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a former Piedmonster, it has been quite a nightmare since 1987 when Ed Colodny pulled the rug out from under us. Many will be delighted to NOT have to retire as a US Airways pilot.
Surely, there are the original US Air people who will regret seeing the name go. I understand that and honor those sentiments; I just do not share them.
I imagine the same goes for USAPA. While it held much promise after managing to kick ALPA to the gutter, in many ways it has not lived up to the promise of a union responsible to the line pilots. Rather, just like ALPA, it ended up more about "kingdom building" at HQ than most of us line pilots are comfortable with. I am happy that I generally supported USAPA all along, but sorely disappointed with the shenanigans over the years. I am quite comfortable becoming APA, and don't plan to look back.
You, Snap, would probably be dumfounded to know how many of us on the east side generally feel this way. Don't look for us crying in our soup. Find us by listening for the champagne corks.

Yeah, because all they ever did for you was resurrect your dead airline, keep your job, and bring the airline to consistent, record profits.EastUS1 said:Well put sir, and fully agreed with here. Now...if there was just some way to get rid of team tempe in the process...oh well. Nothing's ever perfect in this world of ours.

I thought the video was well done. Nice try, I guess.
The only thing that will survive the merger is my AWA pins, uniform, etc. Nothing from the US era. The sooner it passes, the better.
Hello AA, Goodbye us air.
