Nov/Dec 2013 Pilot Discussion

I expect that Hummel will now have the opportunity and (if he wishes to remain in office) will feel compelled to explain his situation to the membership in sufficient detail to allow us to make an informed decision. Most of us at not insiders. We do not receive inside information. We do not have a network of friends who are privy to the real facts (as they see them)'regarding personalities, vendettas, door frames, missing laptops, squabbles with attorneys, each other, etc. Therefore and in most cases, we rely (until more information is available) on what we've been told, what we've read, what we've seen - as incomplete as it may be.

Still, at what is perhaps the most crucial time in the history of this pilot group, we will now be preoccupied with what bodes to be a ugly recall attempt, possible upheaval in union leadership, to be followed by a purge of many committee positions.

Is it possible to start a card drive to decertify USAPA before we do any more damage to ourselves and thereby hasten the arrival of APA? Can we redeem the original certification cards stored in the wooden box which we submitted with such high hopes back in 2007? 🙂

I hope Gary explains nothing. He is following the Contract, the UOM, and the CBL. Nothing needs to be said. Bring on the recall, and our pilots can make an informed decision based on what their lazy Reps tell them and what they read here. Sounds like a plan.  Most of our pilots choose not to read much of anything, unless it is here or on the bathroom wall, then they run with it in the cockpit as the gospel.

If any of you ever get the chance, rent a movie called "The Contender" with Jeff Bridges and Joan Allen. It presents a well written and entertaining look at how to professionally handle political slurs. Hint, you don't give them credit by acknowledging them.  Every time I run by it, I watch it again. RR

Gary is not concerned about being recalled, the MOU is in place.

If the BPR screws up the seniority integration so be it.

His is a thankless job and full of stress. If I were his friend I would advise him to just walk away from all of it. If only for his health.

But if he chooses to stay and fight then he should take advantage of the bully pulpit he enjoys and set the record straight.

That's correct Needles. Two. You are represented by your legal and binding union and they, theirs. Forget your separate class.
Hi James. I heard you lost your FFDO weapon. Thank God for that. Too late for Mr. Wales however isn't it. Your fake union is already impotent, and they're soon to be fully castrated. The West will be dragging you scabs in front of a neutral panel of arbitrators where you'll have plenty to worry about. The gloves are coming off and when it's over, you'll be looking for a new scapegoat. Somehow I imagine ALPA will be to blame for how badly you fk'ed up this SLI like you did the Nic. Brilliant move by the West reps to open the door for you to begin your own self destruction. I will vote to recall Hummer. Nothing would make me happier than to see Bill McKee destroy the remainder of your worthless career.

USCABA is on your own. The West will pair up with the APA to nail you scabs to the wall and there is nothing you can do to stop it.

Res, it's for medical use only!

What was it the company said in their declaration before the court?

"it is highly doubtful uscaba will even be the CBA by the time the MB process takes place"!

You east idiots best hope Silver mandates the Nic through injunction.

The West will pair up with the APA to nail you good looking, intelligent, amazing aviators to the wall and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
Then when you stop laughing you will notice that your feet aren't touching the ground, look back and see the nail in your hide too. Great thinking there Einstein.

So what would you guys say if Mike Cleary had been paddled twice on the way to the hospital. Bypass surgery months later and not using his sick bank? This should be good! Come on you fervent supporters of Hummel. How about the Compass Corruption?

No widebodies, other than new deliveries going forward, ever ..for the West Class. Hot off the press from the the APA HQ.  You read it here first.  RR
By extension that would mean only about 20+ wide bodies for the East?

You would have thought that after all these years vague language is not a good thing. Just read into any section the worst way the company will interpret the language and that is the way it will go down. I still have my doubts about the survival of the non-qualified funds (Davey dollars). I guess I'll know in Jan.Sad to say I don't think this was even discussed. It was just assumed it was part of the "untouchable" retirement. Good luck to all.

"Just read into any section the worst way the company will interpret the language and that is the way it will go down." No possible doubt there Bob, and "Good luck to all" is certainly appropriate.

But...I'm guessing you voted FOR it?

Ah, then you would be guessing wrong grasshopper. I also indicated as much more than once on these boards.

My apology for that '84. That was unwarranted on my part.
