I have been following this thread from the beginning. As a veteran f/a based in PHL, I feel there is a vested interest. From what I am reading, and from what I am hearing out on the line. My personal opinion, everyone in that office has disgraced it with this entire mess. To save face to the membership, AFA Int'l and the company all the elected officers in Local 70 should step down voluntarily. PHL is our largest crew base, the membership is suffering, we need solidarity NOW, we need leaders. I do not feel anyone currently involved in that office and this mess can be considered a leader. All of this is disgraceful the more mud that is thrown the more humilating this becomes.

This is what needs to happen!

Exactly. This base may be able to gain some ground under the interim leadership of T.G. (She has experience). Provided she helps the members find True Leaders willing to give the Local 70 members the time and devotion they deserve, full time.

Enough of the Politcal Mudslinging, JUST GET IT DONE!

AGREE!!!!

Well if this is DELETED you should know a little something ... Michael doesn't get 105 of AFA time like you stated.

DCflyguy,
Lets see, M.E.'s LTO was always increased after each AFA day and at the end of the month minus his ETB trips the time equaled 105 and we all know that he did not fly company time trips. So if it was not AFA pay then who paid him the 105 hours. Does not take a detective to figure that one out.

I think the issue that many had with M.E. was the ETB flying over "MOVED" days. Though he contributed MUCH to the office the days being moved to fly ETB trips should not have been allowed. Working in the office does not give a f/a a right to manipulate the contract and do what others that they are representing or helping represent CANNOT DO. He helped me a few times with issues but that STILL does not make it OK. Where were those 105 hours comming from? That is the problem. HE though is NOT the problem with LOCAL 70. Some are really hung up on this. Again...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE LAURA AND HER SUPPORTERS ARE? Inquiring minds wanna know.

I have to disagree. Why shouldn't M. E. have his days off moved? And why should he not be able to fly ETB on his "moved" days??

First off, he was needed in the Union office M-F every week. That is when USAirways management is in the office. Termination meetings etc... that require UNION REPRESENTATION happen M-F, not on Sunday afternoons or Saturday mornings.

Now, with that said, he WOULD HAVE TO HAVE WEEKENDS OFF! It's simple, really! So I fail to see why a few bitter reserves on here have such an issue with him flying to London or whatever on Friday night! Big deal!

And so what if his LTO kept going up? If he is getting 5+00 a day from the AFA, then his LTO would go up! So M-F is 5 days. 5days x 5 hours a day =25. 25 hours a week x 4 weeks in a month is 100 hours! There! I did the math! If you can show me where he was collecting this FPL and NOT in the office 5 days a week, then there is the problem. Otherwise, who cares? This guy did lots of hard work on behalf of ALL F/A's. Have you called AFA70 lately and tried to get something clarified, or ask a question, since TG and ME are out of the office? My point exactly.

There are a few "upset" reserves on here who say ME was on "easy street" collecting his FPL, flying ETB, ad sittin' back doin' nothin'. 100% WRONG. He worked incredibly hard. They are upset because they have to sit around in their crash pads, collecting 73 hours, and not flying. I know it sucks, I am in the same boat. But what I don't understand is why they are chanelling their anger towards ME, when they voted in the contract in the first place?

And one more thing, if you are so up in arms about ME, why are you not upset about these 3 "Product Specialists" we have walking around PHL? Are they allowed to pick their schedules? Do they get Space Positive back and forth to wherever they live? How many hours are THEY claiming??? What do they really do for us? What is their "specialty?" That should keep those of you who are jealous of ME busy for awhile..... Let us know what you find out.....
Thank you.

You are mixing apples and oranges.

Product specialists are positions designated by the company. Personnel paid BY the company for special assignments.

Pitbull,

I get that. I was just throwing something else in for Lovey, etc... to whine about...

I don't think many are jealous. I would not want to work in that office and deal with some of us flight attendants thank you very much. Right is right and wrong is wrong. M.E. is NOT the issue here. Again M.E. is NOT the issue here. OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW. Does anyone know where Laura is and what she's up to? DOING ANY UNION WORK?

Travelpro,

Call it what you want..jealousy works..... For some reason, some seem to think that M. E. was sitting in the office, doing absolutely nothing, getting paid for it, and illegally flying ETB trips to Europe on the weekends. Some on here feel that since they are sitting around for 73 hours a month and never flying, then M.E. and his "hand picked" days off should be as well. He is so LUCKY to get weekends off! No fair! He should not be getting paid thru AFA. He should not be able to fly ETB on the weekends since he did not "bid" those days. Blah blah blah....... They are way off base, and it stems from a "no fair!" mentality because they are not afforded the same. They are also not doing the work he was....To sum it up? Waaah....

You say you would not want to work in that office with some of the FA's we have? No kidding! Neither would I. Most people could never handle that, or would set aside the time to do that, yet have no problem chastising the people that do work hard for us, day in and day out....

I agree ME is not the issue here, but clarification never hurts. We just need to get that recall meeting rolling, and get TG and ME back where they belong.

BTW, Where is Laura? She must be working on one big big big ELINE because we have not heard anything from her in weeks, with the exception of the prescription drug eline she cut and pasted from the MEC Eline. Sad sad sad....

Thank you.

 What exactly are you smoking?
M.E. was put into his position by none other than L.A.
If the office needed coverage where were the three elected officials? They are the "UNION REPRESENTATION".
Could his seniority hold weekends off? I don't think so.
If he was needed so badly, where the hell was everyone else?
I don't think anyone is bitter or upset. It's just obvious that this guy was working the system and was closely affiliated with L.A.. Now he's gone and if anyone is bitter it's M.E.!

By the way your math sucks! It may be correct numerically but math also requires logic.

Uh, ok...

ME may have been put there by LA, but I seriously doubt that he was "closely affiliated" with LA. U might want to check your facts.... Was he NOT locked out of the office with TG by LA herself? Sounds like a REAL close affiliation to me!

Where were the 3 elected officials? Good question Wolf! I know that TG was ALWAYS there, and the SEC/TREAS was not due to some sort of fallout with LA (surprise)....Can't answer that question, sorry, and that's obviously the problem. Rest assured, TG and ME were there!

I will say it one more time... WHO CARES what days off his seniority could hold? He was in the office M-F, and therefore had WEEKENDS....*OFF*!!! If you or I were in the same position, WE would have weekends off as well! Pretty simple, really.... I don't think it's fair that I am on reserve in PHL and would be a BH in LGA....And???? I don't think it's fair that the Product Specialists in PHL get Space Positive to and from work! Newsflash: Life Aint Fair!

You don't think that certain reserves on this board are upset and bitter about ME and how he supposedly "worked the system?" LOL have you read the thread??

I doubt ME is bitter that he is no longer in the office. I do not know him personally, but he is probably just looking at the turn of events, rolling his eyes, and flying his trips.

If my math is lacking "logic", care to correct me? Oh yeah, and How was he "working the system" again?

Thank you.
