US Pilots Labor Discussion 1/26- STAY ON TOPIC AND OBSERVE THE RULES

LOL
I see a letter from Ed Bular representing the company announcing how the company has increased block times and they have taken specific actions that have increased hours so as to mitigate the prior announced furloughs. I also see the company reaching out to USAPA to try to make the involuntary east furloughs to be zero as well. I see nothing that USAPA did to make this happen. Perhaps you can provide the details on how USAPA negotiated with management to accomplish this "great job". Absent those specifics, any accolades to USAPA are entirely misplaced.
I think USAPA actually did work to encourage leaves, and I firsthand witnessed a pilot to pilot rep schooling a potential retiree in what was involved with the program.

If the company increased block times, there is a reason. And it is not to help their pilot friends. It is because the next round of bonuses will be tied to on time again.

So they helped to push pilots off the top in order to keep more working on the bottom? Sounds like a zero-sum game to me. Hardly translates to saving a certain number of pilot jobs.

That makes perfect sense. It MUST have all been produced from the purest milk of human kindness so freely flowing from management.....especially given how much anguish and despair they clearly suffered over previous furloughs..... 🙄

No amount of recent and record numbers of flight cancellations due entirely to crew shortages/poor staffing planning, much less any union input could even possibly be motivational issues for "the company reaching out to USAPA [/b]to try to make the involuntary east furloughs to be zero as well."

Callaway, it appears you are not familar with the minimum block hour greivance that USAPA won, This is the reason the min block hours went up and layoffs were reduced, not becauce the company was reaching out, the only place the company would reach out to is your pocket, call USAPA and thank them they saved west jobs!!!!!!

Are you forgetting if you take a 330 pilot out, it creates a cascade of upward movement. Most likely a 76 guy would bid up, opening his spot, and then a little bus or 73 capt takes that spot, and then a F/O upgrades. I know you guys get the same on all jets. We don't. We move a lot if there is a higher paying hole. One guy out makes 4 moves. The last move is a guy staying. Nobody got pushed anywhere. You put your own bid in, you don't want to leave? then you stay.

luv,
I am not saying that your statement is entirely false or over-reaching but you should know that the remedy phase of that grievance is still undecided as it has now gone back to Bloch to decide what is appropriate. For the record I believe it was Dave C. who found this violation and those who worked on this issue along with Dave deserve all the credit.

You might be right and at that time Dave was working for USAPA, bottom line jobs were saved and that's good all around in my book!!!!!

You say offer an admission and apology?

How about, usapa offers an admission and apology for filing a SLAPP against innocent individuals, then offers monetary compensation in lieu of a countersuit.

How about USAPA offers an admission and apology for trying to steal the jobs of West pilots.

Total B.S.. The company NEVER intended to furlough ANY west pilots to begin with. USAPA was meaningless....as usual.
Then Bulars' letter stating the furlough of the east pilots was also a ruse?

USAPA was created out of spite, for the sole purpose of screwing the west.

As such, they have been completely ineffectual, and often laughable.

It's OK you in the denial phase.
Lyle Hogg....Months ago...stated in no uncertain terms....in the crew room....that there was NOT going to be any West furloughs. It's common knowledge in PHX. Believe what you want.
