IAM Fleet Service topic

I went to CLT T/A briefing today and the audience asked a lot of questions.

They didn’t get much back from JR except a lot “If’sâ€￾ and dancing around questions. MF provided a great “Counter Pointâ€￾ to the company’s position, I mean IAM position.

Hey how long have we been merged with hp now? I have yet to work alongside one of those guys....

However I feel this T/A is a stepping stone to a better T/A in the future....IF (and that's a big IF) the economy starts bouncing back.
 
I can tell these boards are getting us all a little testy....b/c it is a very real & emotional issue for us.

However, the outcome we will all still be working for the same company and trying to get better in the future. My next store neighbor's wife was just diagnosed with breast cancer this week so I'm trying to keep everything in perspective here....yes it's an important T/A for me but certainly not life or death.

That's it...I'll stop preaching now....

Two thousand years from now… when the forensic archaeologist dig up the remains of us…and the digital records we will leave of our labor struggles… and try to assimilate them per the available scholars... It will be concluded, that Corporate Greed destroyed our civilization, as we currently know it !

Ohhh... I almost forgot...Distract Farce... will we (Fleet)... be finally ready to "fight"...two thousand years from now?

and his insider information (corporate friends) .


Like I said , all they do at your HUBS is sit around and drink coffee and read US AVATION …


Protesting or anything beyond that is just too much to ask of you ….


While your sitting there reading , pretend like I’m sitting there next to you saying this :

“What brand of coffee are you guys drinking today ? star bucks? Their pretty good , like the hot coco myself .. Anything good in the news paper today ? “

That's something we can agree on GF...let's put it all in perspective.....we are now a few days away from the vote and have formed our opinions,whether it be yes or no....wi'll deal with it,it's not like we have'nt dealt with ALOT of BS at this co.our whole careers...Good luck to all...

knew what they were getting when they walked in the door. Now the bk walk was nice during superbowl week but then again

its hard to march in phl and clt when 1. we are under contract till 09 (job actions are grounds for termination) and 2. the superbowl

was played there.
 
Well I never said you should commit a job action O-man , don’t go putting words in my mouth …job actions ARE wrong , and they ARE grounds for termination … don’t do them ..


And as for our uh , interesting video , I laughed when I saw it too , hey there’s no accounting for taste right ?


O-man , there’s nothing you can say to me that will make me stop calling you out until you ACTUALLY COME OUT

of those that BLOWS OFF work and SCREWS his bin partner. OOOOOOOOH my bad you guys don't use bin partners . load by myself
I'm a big strong guy . "I don't need help" . come back in 10 yrs after your back is gone you need rotator cuff surgery and you
can't stand up straight cause your knees are shot.

already been out there. met alot of really good people. but I can tell ya . until the work rules are under the IAM . I wouldn't

set foot on the ramp . alot of safety issues.

That’s right JR , check your aviation seniority :shock: , you need to show some respect to your elder aviation seniors :lol: lol I was here way before you , you haven’t put your time in as far as I’m concerned …

To quote the IAM website Q&A.

"Q. What happens if this Agreement is not ratified?

A. The Company has stated they will not negotiate any further enhancements to the current CBA. They will only offer a straight transition agreement bringing the West to The CBA. The Union would request further meetings however there is no requirement under the law to force the company to negotiate.


Q. In the event of a straight Transition Agreement does District 141 Bylaws or the IAM Constitution require a vote?

A. No. The East Agreement is the surviving agreement, and If no changes or amendments occur then no vote is required under the Bylaws or IAM Constitution."

With that being said. IF we Westies get rolled into the East, can the company force a waiting period for us to recieve equal benefits and Pay, like the T/a asks for? 6 month steps..Just looking for an answer to this question.

BTW whomever thought it would be a better deal to wait for 2009 negotiations for a better deal, why don't we trade wages until that happens and see how your mind might be changed. We need something to happen out here, soon!
 
Today I had an incredible psychic experience. I was working a flt
from CLT when all of the sudden I was overwhelmed by this
message that came to me....

All time seemed to stop but I do recall that I was opening the front

you saw the NO sticker in the bin didn't you!?!?!?? :shock:

Damn, another one lost to the NO sticker .... i've heard everyone who see's it immidately swtiches sides to NO ...
