Roa...

You just posted exactly what I've been thinking....from the IAM stance to the re-regulation idea....

Great minds think alike....... 😉

GF...

Ain’t sure…‘bout “Great Mindsâ€â€¦ but yahh left out tha last two paragraphs of my post… are you in support of our “New Direction†candidates? Don’t be skeered …let us know!

To PHL:

Someone who used to be well respected but has since long been retired had decided to 'chime in' and support Canale in PHL. I read JA's letter and although I know him and BC/PF are tighter than 'two coats of paint', I am surprised and saddened that he could endorse the United Airline Board of Director without even attempting to pick up the phone and show the decency to meet with the new direction team or even the local 1776 leadership over this matter. JA doesn't even know Mike Klemm. Does he know Dave Atkinson? Hell no.
All JA knows is his old buddies who he is endorsing and this is unfair to the rank and file, who nomianted Delaney and walked out on JA's buddy Canale.

Hey Joe, if you would have at least picked up the dam* phone and actually sat down and met ANY of the new direction candidates, you would know that their experience blows your boys experience away. I personally, think it is 'rude' of you to endorse a candidate without at least meeting the other candidates. BTW, your boy Canale doesn't have the balls to come into PHL breakrooms, but did you know that Delaney and the new direction team actually doesn't think breakrooms are profane?

C'mon Joe, you know better than this BS. Give me a break!

At any rate, I'm not sure if you heard but PHL is going to inflict 'great pain' on PF and Canale because PHL knows Delaney. Have you talked to Rich? have you talked to Klemm? have you even the decency to call Nicky Handlow up????

Joe I know you, and these guys are the EXACT type of guy you used to be.

Ya Know, Mr. Nelson! You have for so long, given everyone a "Bill of Sale". Old saying given when everyone thinks the deal is done. We're in the fight of our lives, again. It' in writing that no UNION representative past nor present can recant what is going to come in the next months.

Let' get real. Experience with union matters are more important now than replacing union members in office now, with zealous new comers. Somehow AWA fleet and apparently many us air workers do not agree with a new face on IAM.

The vote will result in a new FACE, but what can that achieve. Doesn't experience(void United) speak volumes?

Oh! So many times we'd wish this Arkansas Hill Billy attitude would DESOLVE! We've been Fleet over a decade now in Phoenix and do not wish to relate to this mentality. Again! New direction does not! convince anyone!

Your union president is the same person who fills the heads of his subordinates with the theme " Your company needs an agreement that will carry it thru

M&A ", yet sends out cards for you to fill out supporting the " No more Mergers philosophy ". Ever wonder that maybe your union president is afraid of

losing membership in a DL/NW deal because the IAM can't solicit membership from DL? Which way is it? You can't have it both ways?

There is always cause to an effect! Membership (Dues)... is paramount from the Union perspective! As... I’ve always said… follow the money!

Membership is paramount Roa, but only after the TA was signed did we get the cards to fill out. The No More Mergers slogan had been on the IAM website

for months I believe. They can't convince DL because they have a Sh*tty campaign. Lets just hope that the NW memberships helps out...

To those of you who don't know who JA is, he was a top stewrad along
with BC ,long ago, when we were Teamsters. Tim, he is no concern to
this vote. More than 2/3's of PHL doesn't even know him or remember
him. So for Randy to believe that calling on him and asking for his support
would help just goes to show you how out of touch he is with us. JA has not
been in the workplace for close to, if not more than, 20years.
His letter
means ''nadda''. Were not the Teamsters anymore and JA still lives in that
mind set.

It is just stupid to ask someone from 20 years ago to help, thinking he was
and is still a name in todays' work place.

Thanks
I understand nobody in PHL supports Canale or PF[ok, 4 people], I just figured that even someone from the last century would also know better. BTW, perv, why hasn't Canale come into PHL breakrooms? CLT breakrooms? He came into the ORD breakroom [lasted less than one hour till he was basically kicked out by AG and JB].
Do you think it's because he can't use the protections of being a United Airline Board member? I mean, this guy has no balls or 'juice' to go into the breakrooms in CLT or PHL. We're coming for him......soon enough.

Has anyone other than me, gotten their “Merger Watch Notice†from the IAM signed by non other than Mr. S.K.Canale himself?

Things continue to look more, and more bizarre as time as goes on… just a few weeks ago the IAM touted these phrases… “We need consolidationâ€...."United will never consider a merger with your COC intact"…so forth, and so on…blahh…blahh…blahh…

Now fast forward to today… The IAM is now telling us that consolidation would be a bad thing! Hmmmm… is it me… or are we missing something? I’ll troll this thread for logical explanations for this current stance from our Union… any input posters?

Distract Farce… where are you when there is nothing to sell?

My own gut feeling, is that the Airline Unions may be on the cusp of beginning a campaign to re-regulate the Airline Industry! I have heard undertones to this effect through the din of airline related news as of late. It looks as if the Petroleum Industry may be investigated, and considered for Government regulation as well.

Now… assuming that the Air Transport Industry is to be considered a National Strategic Asset… can the United States Government let free capitalistic markets continue to dictate the future of this industry?

As of now… the airline industry has lost more money than it has ever made, since the inception Commercial Aviation! Further, there is no airline in existence today (Not even Southwest) that can continue the current business model with $130.00 bbl and above crude, without eventually going bankrupt.

Fleet Service… should we fill out, and sign these “Merger Watch†cards, and take an opposing stance against mergers?

Fleet Service… none of these developments should have any bearing on our decision to Vote for the “New Direction†guys! I have complete faith in our candidates; they can, and will see this thing through with determination… diligence… and respect for this Membership!

P.S. Tim Nelson… as well as tha whole CLT Grievance Committee… I’m callin’ y’all out! Yew better be at tha “Throw Downâ€â€¦ or we cummin’ tah get yahh! We’ll drag yer a**es down here, ‘n force feed yahh BBQ ‘n beer! This includes you too PJ!
I'm coming down for it. Already making plans.

When Desperation Turns To Treachery
The Great Ass’ Motto is “If You Can’t Beat Them, Have Your Buddies Fire Them.â€

A series of disturbing trends has occurred in the last month that disgusts us to our very core. It seems Randy, Robyn, Karen and the rest of the misfits have decided that Scream2008 cannot be victorious in June. They have decided to enlist the help of their management friends to make sure that as many members of the New Direction Slate as possible are fired before June. Below are the case facts.

The Chicago Grievance Committee confronted Randy Canale in a break room. They asked some tough questions of their president and really put him in his place. Next thing you know they received a call in their office saying that Canale called management to make the company stop the New Direction Candidate from challenging him in break rooms because he is a Board of Director for UAL.

Canale’s lap dog Robyn Eulo, who has a history of turning co-workers into the company, spotted a candidate from the New Direction campaigning on May 29th. She proceeded to call the company and tell them that this guy was on an injury leave and campaigning on the property. The company tracked him down on the field and forced him into an investigation with the intent of disciplining him. This is not Ms. Eulo’s first foray into false charges. In January of 04 she made a call to the company hotline accusing 5 members of sexual harassment and drug abuse. These 5 were investigated, humiliated and finally found innocent. Eulo plea-bargained out of discipline with Canale’s help.

Canale called his buddy Parker at USAir to have him issue a directive in Chicago that the Locally appointed Committee Chairman can’t be recognized or involved in any union activity. Coincidentally he is a New Direction Supporter.

Union Leaders going to the Company to turn in brothers & sisters is bad enough, but when our Union Leaders use their power to have their opponents harassed and investigated it makes you wonder just how low they will sink to achieve their goal of re-election.

AGC Faung writes a protest letter to his Grand Lodge buddies trying to force Delaney & Stone to resign their District positions or be removed from the ballot.

Canale gets his buddies in SFO to bring Local charges against another opposition candidate based on wild and false accusations.

There are still several New Direction candidates looking over their shoulders, for not only the company attacks but also their own union’s treachery. I’m sure you have not heard the last of this tale.

OK all you Canale followers . ..... My question to you is . IF your LEADER is deserving of another 4 years . Why does he have
to resort to crying foul to the company . Randy is a spineless leader and for the first time he has to PROVE he deserves his
position and Can't . MY question is why can't he . WHAT has he done for this membership in a positive way. NOTHING

this is what disgusts me most about this trash we have leading the union. There is nothing they will not do to keep their cushy 6 figure gigs
First you have people like DF selling us on mergers and conning us on this pos TA,then last week we get a card to sent in showing we are against mergers.I'm not crazy about mergers but there is no way I am sending these crooks my personal contact info,no way!
Even though ND08 has huge support system wide I worry the vote will be tainted just like the TA vote was.
How anyone could support Canale and his dishonest group of scammers is beyond me.I guess what P T Barnum said about a fool being born everyday is true

I just don't know with oil being $130 a barrel right now how much power Unions (no matter who's leading them!) are going to have...especially if we enter BK court again....

If i could I would love to get off this roller coaster ride....

another fine example of why the TA should be renegged and revoted all over and see if it were to pass what agreat leadership the IAM has that is until a NEW DIRECTION TEAM 08 TAKES OVER

Hey ray liotta or maybe redeye if he's still around. Question. I thought in an officer election or bylaw election if you lived more than

35 miles away from your local you were allowed to absentee vote. Can you clarify that for me .

giant,
Your right . We probably won't see alot of major changes with the new leadership right away . cause were tied up

with a contract for 4 more years and thats usually when the general membership sees what there leadership is made of. however

I think what you will see immediately is more communication and a more accessible leadership than we have now. And also a leadership

that is in those positions for the MEMBERSHIPS not just for themselves. thats a BIG difference.
