There has been much talk about signing a card so there can be a vote. Here is a link to print a copy of the card. This means that you want a vote to be conducted for representation and you want the teamsters to be one of your choices. FILL IT OUT AND SEND IT IN. THEN GET OUT AND VOTE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU.

i know that all of the hubs are talking about this but my question is can the cities such as ABE and MDT that are Piedmont sign the card or no?
we at abe and mdt are only piedmont on the ramp and i am not sure what the psa cities are but could they also be included or is it just for the hubs and large cities?

I would think that you need to be a us airways tech covered under the iam contract. but to be sure contact Pat Porter at local 104 ; awaba@team104az.phxcoxmail.com

Keep those cards coming. You're doing great!! 🙂

ok i will do that hopefully this week one day after work. I only ask this because we are ramp agents in ABE and i know that we do push backs marshalling in the planes, de ice them and the whole nine yards. although we are Piedmont, we are fleet service would that make a difference? some of the folks i've talked to say that a vote cant hurt but i think personally they are over the IAM after what we went thru

Funny the IBT seems desperate from the posters on this board.

How many differant threads are you going to start and keep begging for cards?

I smell desperation in the air.

I think the real panicing is in the IAM camp thats why they are comming out west to talk with us,
we've heard the cards are flowing in steady. also I heard that today the IAM asked our guys to leave the meating becuase they couldn't handle the truth. we don't fall for thier lies!

Just my opinion.........from a former union member a number of times over: neither IBT or IAM are bothering with the potential pool of members - voluntary or involuntary. There are positions between the old AWA and the old US Airways that are equivalent in function BUT......that same position or positions, are not equivalent in representation. And all that means, for example, is a position in PHX is NOT and NEVER has been represented but an equivalent position at PHL IS represented. So.........will the union represented position remain? Will the union represented position become non-union? Will the non represented position become union - by choice or not by choice?? Does anyone know for sure?? I'm thinking not. Neither the IAM nor the IBT have bothered to have contact with 99% of the currently non represented employees. Yes, they have had contact with a select department. No one seems to be able answer why a select department has had contact and the others have not? Even though the question has been raised. So..........looks to me, like neither union is being very proactive towards the currently non represented employees. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Why wouldn't the information, from both unions, be put out?? Wouldn't that increase the potential pool of card signers, future union members, whatever you want to label that group. It just doesn't make any sense to me that this group is being left out. And maybe neither union really cares one way or another because it's all going to be up to the NMB anyway. But it sure sounds like there's a battle for cards going on but it only seems to be here. I just don't understand............but then again............makes you wonder if there is even any honest, true, valid, correct, legitimate information for either side to release. I can only speak for myself when I state this...........I will not sign a card, if given the opportunity, from either side, until I have some facts. And it doesn't look like those are forthcoming to current members so I'm thinking that I shouldn't expect to see information to non union members..........even though they could be potential members. Hmmm.............hope it makes everyone else wonder too.

I heard that the IBT is getting the list of all furlowed us employees, I'm sure it wasn't easy to get and will be sending out info and cards. also they are invited to all the info meeting.

That's great. But the non union represented employees are currently employed............they are NOT furloughed. So what about all those people?? Just for clarification..........the people I am speaking about are current AWA/US West employees.

So now maybe someone can shed some light on all this............because it's pretty dark in the non union area...........even darker than in the union area. And who knows where we will all end up?????

And what ever became of the IAM meeting in PHX? Never even knew about it...........communication?? NOT.

IAM: Intent Ambush Many

I would say after the meeting with the IAM yesterday that they are the ones confused about the NMB rules. They could not provide any substancial documentation supporting that the teamsters will fall under their bankruptcy contract. We have the right to vote and the Teamsters will prevail, and all you techs at US AIRWAYS will benefit. If you think that the IAM will beable to keep all your mx in house then why are your back shops sending work to Canada??. The IAM does not care how they get their dues as long as they get it. They talk about how AWA out sources mx, well they do not know that it is being discussed with the company to readdress bringing that mx back in house. It has come the time that the cost of sending the heavy mx out is not so cost effective. This is america and you have the right to choose. CHOOSE IBT!!!!!!!!!!!!

because it was given up to keep bus mx inhouse....and ACT has invested money and WILL get a return.this inhouse thing isn't over by any means.dougie and friends were distraught over U buses in house.keep an eye peeled. 😉
