Bradford stole my douche on the way out!!

No, not kidding.

The rental cops also escorted the exalted to and from their vehicles. Apparently USAPA's leadership is very jumpy and they see monsters in the shadows.

If USAir remains in business I expect to be working under the current CBA for a very, very long time.

Just got word of the latest crew news video in PHX:

"I gotta ask you, are YOU going to fire me if I don't pay USAPA"
" The contract is very clear about the procedures, we have to terminate you..."

I guess many actually thought that wasn't the case?

" But that agreement was between me and ALPA..."

"..Wherever you see ALPA, replace it with USAPA...thats what the company does..."

How could any AWA pilot possibly think it was going to be any different than todays reality check by Parker...?

Bradford stole my douche on the way out!!
You mean he took it from you. He's tired of seeing you west guys walking around with them.

I think the armed guard was a good idea. He did it to help the west guys, by preventing them from doing something that could cost them their jobs, or even costing them time in jail. He was being WAAAY too nice, IMHO.

The "newest of new" members of USAPA have a set of standards of which they must uphold to remain members, in the event that they fold and go the way that Metroyet suggests, we will take their money, they will be fired if necessary, and/or they will lose the right to vote....all based on their behaviors going forward.

Looks like you have this all figured out. Good for you!

Agreed. What an utterly pathetic scenario = "Hey gang!..Let's really show 'em who's "tough" and in control here!!....Everybodfy...Grab your cameras!!"..
"All right "men"...We showed them what's what!..Mission accomplished!.." "I want you all to know how very proud we all are of you". "An extract from the unit citation awarding the Kodak Cross follows":

"The 18th Mobile Shutterbugs of the Army of Leonidas distinguished itself by extraordinary gallantry, courage and high esprit de corps in the accomplishment of extremely difficult and hazardous operations within the Fantasyland Salient. During several seconds of "combat" against a determined and entrenched enemy, elements of the Shutterbugs were successful in placing withering fire upon the enemy positions, clicking off numerous frames which resulted in devastating causualties to the enemy, The courageous attack was pressed home without any thought of potential finger callouses resulting from even the most troublesome cameras. This action was significant in that the enemy was repeatedly photographed without the lighting being properly set to catch their best sides, and thusly resulting in a decisive victory for the Shutterbugs, which is fully expected to turn the entire course of the conflict. The selfless courage and dedication displayed by the Shutterbugs reflects great credit upon themselves and the Army of Leonidas".

Well..I, for one am fully impressed 🙄

Look everybody! V1cut. Another easty all jacked up on internet bravado! Kinda like another we all know and love. Come to think of it where is MachTuck these days? Hmmm. No Mach and suddenly Mr V1 magically shows up... Interesting.

Same attitude, different name.

Piney, you're reading much more into my comment than was intended mate. I'm only saying that Parker confirmed something AWA chaps didn't believe...that he would fire them.

cheers

Same attitiude, all right...and I think I'm not alone, either.

Not Mr. Mach, however I did enjoy his battles with you. I guess they cost him a trip to the patch, or whatever you call it.

Doug parker who is the real enemy here.

Good thoughts Piney. Now; How does anyone actually explain the concept of group advancement to those who're bent on nothing other than sabotaging the representing Union at every possible level, and conduct themselves as hapless little slobbering puppies, insanely seeking via eager subserviance, to somehow curry favor from managment? It's truly tragic, but, my honest estimation of the west section is that they represent, at the very best, purely dead weight to drag along, and as is more likely the case; a reservoir of eager and fully enthusiastic strike-breakers. These people are a manager's dream.....and said management has already, fully figured out their value as "Usefull Idiots" long ago..... This is an issue of established fact, not merely my opinion..and I most definately wish that such were not the case...

I just watched Dougs meeting with the pilots in PHX.

I kept hearing over and over how the west is not being represented by their union "USAPA". How can the west claim that they are not represented when they don't pay dues. USAPA can't represent a group that doesn't pay dues. Until you start paying your dues we will be in the stalemate we are in forever. You are delaying the contract for all of us. You must be satisfied with your current contract also.

There is so much misinformation that comes from the west

Its simple....Pay your dues, Get representation, stay informed, and most of all be heard by YOUR union...USAPA

Doug made it very clear to you all the he has to terminate non paying members.

Not paying your dues is not going to play out as " I'll show them" .

I have to say that there is a lot of smart talented people out there that know will help to make this a great union.

Respectfully

Much like the bar owner in New York who swallows his pride and pays protection money to the mob, everyone on the west recognizes that we will have to pay dues eventually. Because this money will be used to finance our own destruction we are understandably unenthusiastic about paying USAPA for the privilege of being raped.

USAPA, in it's present incarnation, will never be a great union. It will never get a contract. LOA93/Contract 2004 will be the law of the land until the next merger or chapter 11/7 filing.

Clearly the company is not taking negotiations seriously, and why should they - even if a release to cooling off ever happens what is the next step? A strike? Not likely.

The company is just going through the motions.

Can't argue with that.

I do wish, though, that the westwhiners would stop making fools of themselves at these base meetings. Do they really think Doug is their mommy? It used to be funny to watch, but month after month of the same useless crying is getting pathetic. They obviously don't have a clue as to how the company has to deal with the issues legally. Doug's not going to kiss your boo-boo, slap on a Batman Band-Aid, dry your tears and offer you gentle hug. Stop asking him to do that.

Nor can I argue with you.

There are a few "true believers" out west that get Doug, Herb Kelleher, Santa Clause and their mommies confused.

I am sure that there are some east pilots' whose behavior embarrasses the hell out of you as well.

We are not our brothers' keepers.

USAPA can't represent a group that doesn't pay dues.

I keep seeing variations of this....

USAPA is required to represent every pilot on the property in contract matters - members, agency fee payers, those on the way to termination for not paying anything. From negotiation, through administration, all the way to enforcement, the price USAPA pays for becoming CBA is the obligation to represent every pilot when it comes to contract matters.

Jim

And they are, as the 2 current grievances illustrate. And the disciplinary hearings for one or more west pilots who have enjoyed the benefit of representation in those matters. This gentleman slightly misspoke, but I think it's been made crystal clear that pilots will be processed for termination if they continue in their current modality, and Parker has made his position clear along those lines as well. Now, having said that, they will be "represented" right up to their termination if they don't follow their responsibilities to this union.
