Hey guys, Why should Class 2 cities vote no? We are stuck here with a current top of 15.72 an hour and cost of living here in South Florida is just going up, up, up! I know this contract sucks and the scope is bad, but we are going broke down here. Ill take my chances with the future and vote yes!

Part of the problem of ever getting anything right is the fact that the Union has allowed such a thing as a Class 2 city. Just another example of how the PHL's of the world jam it up the rear of everyone else.

Please think about the west coast people because we are people not numbers. Our pay is even worse than yours but our kids still need food and clothes. I can't provide that without a job. I am scared that when the corporate office changes to Chicago we will be cut drastically. Without any sort of protection language we will be up s##t creek and no paddle. If I can only appeal to you on that level I hope you vote to get to traditional bargaining next year and bring us some security.

This company is not coming back to the table if this is voted down.........the speculations and guesses that they will are false.....so, vote this pos in so as to have to not live with a bigger pos bk contract and continue to lose very many monies every month like we have since this all started.......there is not a better deal coming.....anyone who thinks there is is quite deluded.....vote for pay parity....vote for solidarity and make the only logical choice in these times.....and that is to vote yes......if this doesn't pass, it will be armegeddon and diasters of epic proportions......vote yourself a pay raise and better conditions and then go for more come the conclusion of this about to pass contract.....to expect a better deal from a company that is losing money and during a recession is just not logical or very smart....so, stop being so pissed about where you were and what you deserve and start thinking and doing the math......don't make me have to come out there......

You know this how? Oh I see its a speculation or a guess. No I don't think so. I choose to draw the line in the sand right here. The strangest thing is I'm not pissed. I'm tired of not getting a fair shake and being treated with the respect we deserve. I am not deluded at all and I firmly believe the company will be back to the table. If not now then in '09. It is a fact and undeniable they will be back.

Thanks for the post ''vortex''. It gives me hope that PHX is not so
completely a YES vote and maybe just maybe this voting on site
will backfire on them as it did when they allowed PHL to vote before
many other stations last time thinking PHL was a yes vote.

Welcome to the site and I look forward to reading about PHX through
your posts.......

perserverance.

gf,
"That's been my point all along...we have been screwed over by this co. time & time again. What makes you think it will be different in the future? What makes you believe so passionately that they will come back with some better? Again there is NO HISTORY OF THAT...."

totally agree with that statement. But what if we as fleet do something that has never been done before , and that is stay solid

and show the company overwhelmingly that we want a fair shake across the board. that is something we have never done that's

why the company treats us like a red head step child. they always pit hub vs field / east vs west. the oldest trick in the book

divide and conquer . The union doesn't want us strong and united because then they have to start justifing there jobs which they

have never had to do because everyone was kept in the dark.

hope that makes a little sense.

O'man, I thought you were in the mountains on vacation.

hey golden ,
a little contradiction there would you say. 1. the union allowed such a thing as class II . then you say it's phl fault

WTF..

still like jabbing your buddies in phl . sign of a fallen leader heading out the door.

Vortex,

Your wrong Mr. Freedom arbeiters do make decisions. You are not an arbeiter and do not make decisions for us either. I don't know where you hang out here in PHX, but my vote is converted to NO and more and more here are changing our minds knowing that we may not have a job. I would rather have a job making the sucky wage than no job at all. Obviously clowns negotiated this crap because RR self admittedly did not directly negotiate anything only R Canaley and the guy from the international. Why on earth would we allow the company to bring to a vote an agreement that was less than what we had before. We are not a bunch of eunuchs. Pat R would never have asked us to vote on this and would have had the foresight to know that this United deal could gut us like a fish without any protection. I hope we go back to the table and our leadership hang strong for our benefit.

I appreciate the kind comment. I would have liked the chance to have been a part of the transition talks. However, I can't say what if anything would have been different if only Canale and the International rep. were negotiating. I know my personality and I would have been very loud in the caucuses. I don't understand how the west is transitioning so slow into the payscale etc. That 60 day rule, if I'm interpreting that right, would have me scratching my head if I were a west employee with less then 5 to 8 years. I hope I'm wrong on the 60 day rule because if not and we merge with UA and they cut capacity like the reports are saying, good luck to hundreds of west employees. And that is not counting the hundreds that will be laid off in 2012 either.

When contemplating which way to vote on this POS TA, I believe you have to factor a lot of variables in there. This is the 2nd POS TA that we've seen in the last 8 months and they are not getting any better. This was worse. Canale and other negotiators originally came out saying the west would be rolled into the east BK contract if this is voted down. They have backed away from that statement, but they are also in the midst of an election and they may still try if they are re-elected. In their Q&A's that were posted that was asked and they said they could roll us into the BK contract.

In conclusion, if this fails it was because there were too many questions and not enough answers and because this is a POS. If it passes, it was only because people lost faith in the ability to get what they deserve.

Respectfully,

P. REZ

This POS t/a is a product the UA merger talks, you've got a ua bod negotiating your contract!
Remember metro-jet? It was dimantled because of the last ua merger talks.
You guy's outwest , I feel sorry for you. Your demise will be just like PSA, ask those guys
about layoffs and transfers...............if you have enough time to get one!

Another question for you District Force. Why is Randy saying that the medical benefits are extended for 9 months when that's not true and it only applies to OJI's? Also, you mentioned up to 1,700 job losses soon after a United announcement [papers say it will now happen next tuesday]. Where do you see those job losses occuring? FWIW: 5 stations that are strong No's around LAX have to drive an hour to vote, same with some SFO area locals. Other small west stations that are yes votes are allowed to vote right in their breakroom. Can Randy do this?

I just checked the IAM web site and to no suprise they haven't updated the Q & A on the T/A since Apr 28. Our vote is tomorrow and they don't seem to give a rats a$$.

DistrictForce,

Since you seem to know canale personally, would you ask him why does the us ramp have so many seniority dates? Why don't we go by DOH for everyone, and not just some? When you get the answer, please post it on here for all to see. Also ask him how are we supposed to one solid union when at his whim everyone is treated differently, when we should all be treated the same with the same opportunities for each across our US system?
